The best part of my experience was LEAVING.
I ordered 3 items (2 snack wraps and a burger). First, they tried telling me one of the snack wraps was discontinued because they couldn't find the button for it....I then ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR for my food..the workers stopped answering the call light and the drive thru speaker box. The screen kept showing that the food was "in the kitchen" I ended up ordering McDonalds through the app and leaving without a refund or food.
BUT!...This story really isn't even about me...it's about the lady in the car that was a few stalls down from me.
She was already in the stall when I arrived, after 30 mins of her waiting for her food (THAT SHE PREORDERED AHEAD OF TIME OVER THE APP), she pressed the call button and nobody answered, then she pulled through the drive thru and nobody answered.. She returned to her stall...pressing the button again. FINALLY, a lady came on over the speaker yelling at her to "stop pushing the call button because that's how they get broken"!....
The lady in the car let her know that she had already been waiting 30 mins for her PRE ORDERED APP FOOD....The Manager came out...asked the name..said they don't have the order...((THE FOOD WASN'T EVEN BEING MADE!!))... It's now been 40 mins of this lady waiting!! She told the manager that she needed food or a refund because she had been waiting for TOO LONG! The manager said he can't do a refund because she ordered through the app..blah blah blah. The lady then said "I'm starving, and I need to leave, just bring me whatever you have that's ready...preferably hot".
During her waiting, another lady got out of her car and was chatting with the app lady. Their conversation covered a broad range of topics - best places to live, racism and breaking news. During my ease dropping, random Country Music started playing and a stray cat appeared illuminating from the sonic drive thru menu.
....an additional 20 minutes go by and they finally bring her some food (not the food she ordered). but something... maybe it was some sonic mints, maybe some groovy sauce, but the lady finally drove off.
In the MEANTIME. The Sonic people continued to ignore cars that were pulled up in the stalls, we pressed our call buttons frantically, like passengers on the Titanic desperately blowing their whistles, hoping someone—anyone—would come to our aid. No one ever did...

A Carhops job is by far the hardest restaurant work in its field that is why its turn over rate gets killed. It makes it harder for the management to hire and can hurt fellow employee's also, so when this happens our work schedules are figured on a daily. By daily I mean the workers Carhops/cooks call the store everyday or the night before to see if they are working.
The restaurant does try I mean come on half prices during certain happy hours even the shakes are half off after 8 at night until close!!! Honestly Sonic shouldn't have taken away its old ways customers buzzing through the drive through and not even waiting for the order to be re-red or taken and getting to the window without a receipt. I even tell the best carhop that not even shes a robot, we have lost a lot of our streak but the truth will only hurt us both. Service people and the people.
I was forced to Quit by my management and boss with in my 3 month return to working with Sonic Drive-In Never had such a problem before ever in my work history with thefranchise although this store#3477 has had a huge turn-over rate since I have been employed there. I am not taking back the written attack on us complaint but am saying or just wanting to say WOW!! Wrong store to defend, I was however in there defense and as far as losing not only me but many other good hearted employees its absurd. In my recollection I recall, 13 employees that have fired left or quit. I only rate my experience a 3 because of the people not because of the stores drama in employee history tracking its just unreal!!
I did however have hope for my Sonic while I was employed there, it was a wreck, after the audit, the store being closed for cleaning and bug bombing, in regards to it being closed down. I needed my job is what I am trying to say and it was known, cant understand why I was pushed so hard? Read moreI live near by and have come here several times in the evening in the last few months. Maybe once it’s been conflict free and fine. Almost every time hours before close stalls are closed. That’s a minor inconvenience but whatever. Ive gone well before close and its empty. I tried going last week through the drive through over an hour before close and the worker yelled “as you can see we are clearly closed” over the speaker. I pulled into a spot after that just to figure out where else I was going to eat and he yelled two more times over the speaker. Tried going last night because other sonics in the area are just much farther. There were a few cars pulled into stalls so J did that since my order was a little big. It was raining but I pulled as close to the door as possible. Car next to us got their food then we were told stalls were closed. Went to the drive through and waited for five minutes with rain getting in my car for somebody to say anything over the speaker. Ended up just leaving. I work in food service so I’m not one to complain about tiny things. It’s obvious that this store is having staffing issues which isn’t employees fault, but employees here are also so rude for no reason. I get having a bad night after a customer is rude but if you keep being rude to customers then they’re be rude back and the night only gets worse.
