Tapatio Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Kansas City

Was invited here for a party and it was a very disappointing experience. They hadn't set up tables for our party the way it was requested so we had to condense our party to two tables so we could all speak to one another. Having to shuffle around must have confused our servers, which was understandable. Expect one of them never came back to check on us after dropping our drinks off. When we asked the other server why everyone had gotten their food but us, they said "I didn't take your order" and walked away. Super unhelpful. Food finally came out after the manager was talked to three times, didnt get everything we ordered but wasn't going to press our luck again. Told us it was a mix up. Alright, understandable. After our food was dropped off, still no one would check on us or bring refills. We asked for our check 3 times, had to explain what we had ordered each time, because we needed to leave. After the third time they came to our party and told us they had no idea what anyone got so they need us to write it all down. Left us with a notepad and didn't come back for awhile, so the other people with us offered to pay for us so we could leave. Apparently after we left they finally dropped off a check for "the people who snuck off" and they sent us a picture and it was completely incorrect. I don't know how they still got it wrong after we all wrote it down (and told them verbally our order three times.) Maybe come during off hours because they cannot handle a rush. DO NOT EAT HERE! Bad food, TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I went to this restaurant to grab a quick lunch right down the street from my job. What should have been 35 minutes became twice the time on a slow day. First when I walked in, I had to wait 5 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated. Took waitress was very rude and barely spoke the language. Found a language barrier to be the issue with everyone who worked there. There were only 5 other tables being serviced and half of them already had their food when I walked in. Had to wait 15 minutes or more to put my order in as I watched my server Felix playing on his cell phone instead. Had to wait an additional 20 minutes to get my food, which was hot, but gross. I had waited an additional 10 minutes attempting to pat my bill, before getting so frustrated that I had to walk into the kitchen to get a ticket from my waiter who was just standing around. I asked to speak with a manager and they all claimed that there was no one in management on staff and the owner wouldn't be there until the next day. I NEVER received an apology for the poor service received, nor was their any compensation offered. Came to this restaurant with my service dog and was met with ignorance. In the beginning, the server sat us down without any issues. However, a women claiming to be standing in for the manager because he was in the bathroom, asked to see my dog's ID. For those who don't know, you are legally not allowed to ask for ID. Buy law, you are only allowed to 1: ask if the dog is a service dog, and 2: ask what function do they serve. This woman was rude, had additude, and still asked to see the ID even after we told her she was breaking the law. They had no legal choice but to have us stay, so we stayed and ate. The food was good and the server was nice and did a good job. However, while we were eating the same woman who asked for our Service ID in the beginning kept walking by with her nasty face, looking at our dog and then looking away when she saw that we were noticing. At the end of the meal we asked to speak with the manager and ended up having to educate him on the law. He gave excuses, saying that they were doing what the owners asked.
