I'm a frequent Subway customer, so this isn't an issue at all with the restaurant as a whole.
I walked into this location to order some soup, which they didn't have because their truck hadn't shown up. That's fine. So I ordered a Meatball Marinara instead. I took the sandwich to my car where my wife and I began to eat.
Upon taking the first bite, my wife and I both noticed that the color inside the meatballs was rather pink. Feeling uncomfortable with continuing to eat that, I went back inside to try to get a refund.
I explained to the staff that the meatballs were pink on the inside, that we weren't comfortable eating that, and that I would like to get a refund. They explained to me that everything comes to them pre-cooked and that all they do is heat it up. That's understandable, but I'm still not convinced that it was thoroughly cooked in the first place and am not comfortable with eating that.
The young man at the register (tall, brownish colored hair, with facial hair) walked off to call and get approval from, supposedly, his manager at the suggestion of his fellow employee (a young black woman). As he walked off with phone in hand, this young woman took the sandwich and observed the pink area I had mentioned, and then proceeded to check the rest of the meatballs in the sandwich, which all looked similar.
Upon the return of the young man, he informed me that his manager said that "unless something is actually wrong with the sandwich, we can't issue a refund". "Even with the meatballs pink in the middle?" I asked. He then explained to me again that they came precooked to them and that he can assure me that everything was cooked to safe temperatures. I told him I understood that, but I still wasn't comfortable with how pink they were. He then said "What do you want me to do, grab a meat thermometer?" If that's what it takes.
I then asked if I could get another sandwich, and he said "like what?". I asked for maybe a Pizza sub, to which he replied that they didn't carry that sandwich, but he could do any other $5 footlong. I asked about Turkey and he said he couldn't do that.
At that point, the young woman employee spoke up. She told him that it wasn't right that I couldn't get my money back if I was dissatisfied. He then asked the young man if he called "her". He said that he didn't and if she wanted to, she could. She then grabbed the phone from him and proceeded to make a phone call. When she returned, she gave me my money back.
To this young woman and whomever she called, thank you for displaying great customer service. To the young man who argued with me and whomever he called, thanks for being an ass over...

Read moreTRENT the manager at this location is RUDE. I made a request twice and apparently he didn't hear me giving me extra cheese I didn't ask for. Then charged me for the extra cheese even though I told him I didn't ask for it. At that time he got an attitude saying "well if you would speak up!" I requested and paid for cookies I didn't get. Distracted with trying to get a coupon to work that never did (was not given the discount although the coupon was good) I didn't catch they didn't give me the cookies. The sign when you order requests guests to be polite to the staff... it would be great if their manager was polite...
