TJ Birria Y Mas — Restaurant in Katy

Came here with my family. Food was delicious, I ordered the enchiladas with birria OMG the best I’ve ever had. My kids had the quesabirria and my husband the ramenbirria. Everything was very good. Highly recommend this place. And they offer aguas frescas too!

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: we’ve been here about 8-10 times and I’ve noticed that one of the cashiers a female with a tongue ring tends to be very condescending and rude. The times I’ve been there a male employee goes over and beyond to help and customer satisfaction is his main goal. When I ordered my enchiladas the way I’ve ordered them 5 times previously, she started questioning me if I had been there before and that a short stature lady who doesn’t speak much was the owner and what I was asking for did not exist. Her entire attitude is just not appropriate to welcome customers. She told me exactly “this lady right here is the owner and you are asking for something that doesn’t exist if it did she would know what you are taking about and we don’t”. The “owner” just stood there and smiled. SERIOUSLY teach your employees the right way to speak to your customers. Friends have mentioned this place to me. Also passing by daily made me want to check it out .

Ordered Birria tacos and side of Elote .

Birria tacos- comes with 4 Birria tacos and consome . Wasn’t as flavorful as I would expect since this place is named after it . Consome soup was mediocre same lack flavor. Tacos itself filled with a good amount of shredded beef . My rating 2.5*

Elote- my rating 1* - it was served in a small styrofoam cup loaded with cheese on top . Same with the tacos this was a big let down on taste . I could only take a few bites . Pretty much just cheese mayo and cheese in a cup . I’ve had elote cups that have been spruced up a bit more .

2 salsa bottles are served with your meal. Salsa verde was my favorite filled with lots of flavor and heat . Red salsa definitely had more heat imo and more tangy.

I would definitely give this place another chance and possibly just stopped by on a bad day. I will for sure try...

Very clean interior bathrooms, and exterior. There is some seating on the patio is a little hot today to sit outside. The staff are friendly and prompt cleaning the tables. The food came out hot, freshly prepared. The Ramen was epic. According to my son the video deluxe is a great combination platter Definitely come with an appetite and be willing to try a variety of different things.

Would recommend and look forward to coming back

Very large parking lot directly in front of the restaurant on both sides, but then also it shares it with other retail stores.
