I had been a customer to China Inn Cafe since 2017, I usually placed an order once a week and often twice a week. Throughout that time our tea order would not show up or they would send the wrong soup and they would give me a credit for the next order. Today was just the worst, food is good enough to put up with it most of the time, but when the missed one of the lunch items we ordered after they repeated the order multiple times forgot to charge us for it(they did not input the order in their system). When we called to figure out what happen we placed the order for the missing food, I waited to eat with my wife, 1:15 minutes later when we called to check on delivery time the said that the driver refused to deliver it because it wasn’t more than $20. I talked to the manager after the person who takes the order had to beg him to talk to me, I could here him in the background saying he does not want to deal with customer service issues, she insisted and then he got on the phone and said, “what you want!”( I tried to take the rude response as a translation thing). I explained that I have been a loyal customer for years and that I would like to have my food, he said he pays the driver too much for a order less than $20, I told him that I tip the driver $6-$10 for a ordered that is usually $34 and that my order would have been more than $20 if they had gotten it right in the first place. He said driver refused and that he cannot do anything about it, that I can go pick it up. Forgive the long negative review but good grief. Enough is enough. They have lost a loyal customer who put up with their incompetence for years. Do not be like me and put up with it, because when they mess up bad, the owner will not care. To the lady on the phone, thank you for making him get on the phone, you...
Read moreI ordered pork fried rice, spring rolls and wonton soup. It took 1 1/4 hours to arrive, which I can overlook as traffic was heavy the Sunday after Thanksgiving. But... I specifically requested extra soy and hot mustard, so, of course, I got neither. Not even a single fortune cookie on a $30 order. When I called the first time tget an ETA on delivery they just said he is there now and hung up. When I called back in 15 minutes, they just recognized my voice and hung up. Called back and this time they called the delivery driver and he said 10 minutes. So, 20 minutes later he knocked on the door. I was 10 steps from the door and by the time I opened the door, he was down the stairs and was opening his car door. So, the service stinks, now on to the food. The spring rolls were OK. Not bad, but would have been much better with soy, hot mustard or even sweet and sour sauce. But, these people give you squat. The wonton soup was bad. The. Broth tasted heavy and ready. The wonton were thick and and somewhat tough. The filling was OK. Finally we get to the pork fried rice and the serving size was Impressive. But, the taste was, again, stale, heavy and greasy and I was hard put to find any pork. I am simply visiting Katy, I live in a small town 3 hours North. We have one Chinese restaurant and it blows this place out of the water! If you want good food or service, I suggest that you look elsewhere. I don't like leaving bad reviews because I have been a catering company and restaurant owner. I know how difficult it can be to build a customer base and a good reputation. But, people need to know that they money they spend on food is money well spent. If you order from this place... well, just get your food...
Read moreWe have ordered from them quite frequently and never had a problem, but tonight was a disaster. We ordered a couple of items tonight, and over an hour passed and the food still hadn't arrived. We called and the person who answered the phone claimed that "something weird happened with the computer", and that they would have a fresh order out to us. No apology, didn't ask what he could do to make up for it. The food made it to our house in seven minutes flat, which means it could not possibly have been fresh because we live 5 minutes away from the restaurant. What REALLY happened, was that they reheated our old food order that somebody forgot to deliver, and admitted that an employee made a careless mistake which is why the food never went out in the first place. The lo mein was dry, the chicken was dry, the soup was cold, there were only two shrimp in the lo mein, the chicken wings were cold, everything was cold and disgusting and soggy. When we call back to let them know we were on satisfied with the quality of the food, the employee kept putting us on hold and talking to the manager who he claimed was unavailable. When the manager finally came to the phone, she was blunt, rude, uncaring and ridiculously offered to send us another order of "fresh" food. I don't know what happened tonight because we ordered from them before, but we will never be...
