Having visited this place nearly daily during my 7-day vacation... This is the best place to come after a day spent on the beach!

The dishes are familiar -- fried chicken, burgers, salads, and fish -- but all have a flair of unique island ingredients in interesting, delicious combinations. I had the tuna belly fish and chips and haven't stopped thinking about them since. The rainbow kale salad is to die for and never in my life did I expect a deviled egg to deliver a religious experience. But here we are. Don't get me started on the mac salad. I can't even talk about it, it's so good.

While I am not a big alcohol drinker and don't usually like cocktails... I will say that the cocktail menu was incredible and I had more than a few drinks! I wish I could've tried them all, but I would've probably died (albeit happily).

So, the drinks were bomb, the food was out of this world and I haven't even talked about the service.

This entire establishment is saturated with creativity, fun, and inclusivity. They practice what they preach here. You walk in to this friendly atmosphere and you feel like you just entered the best party in Kapa'a where everyone is invited. The service is top notch, friendly, fast, and super personal. I even spied the owner there most days that I visited-- they care about doing a great job and delivering some of the best bites I had during my vacation!

This place has a small dining area dominated by the bar (which serves the full menu!), it can get loud at times, but that's to be expected from such a small area. I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups that are expecting to sit together. If you are a large group-- go for the takeout option so you don't miss out on some of the best food in Kapa'a.

For smaller groups/couples-- eating at FBD is 100% worth the wait to experience the great food...

First impression was amazing. We came and browsed the store. The gal there was super helpful with awesome insight. Bought some items and decided to come back in the evening. Online it say walk ins only. So that’s what we did. We got there at about 6 on Friday for dinner. We waited to be greeted for 20 minutes or more. Other people who seemed to regulars were seated promptly. Once sat it felt like our server, darker haired gal seemed overwhelmed and wanted to rush us.She was trying to take our whole order right away which we did not want. We ordered drinks and an app. She brought me the wrong drink. We told her and she then brought me the correct drink but it wasn’t very balanced. It had no sweetness, bikini wax was the name. Maybe it was made in a hurry since the first was messed up. Then we ordered our meals. I had asked for the spicy sauce on the side which she said no problem! But then the sandwich had sauce on it. Then when we asked for water because she never offered us any, she said sure, but never brought it. My partner had to go up to the bar an ask for water. We really wanted to give our server the benefit of the doubt but she kept messing up at every point and she wasn’t being very apologetic or comping anything. There was also no salt and pepper out which some of the food items could have used. They also seem to Be card only but then tack on a credit card fee on your bill and also tack on other fees. Which personally I feel they should just build in to the price structure because it feels the prices are very misleading. All and all over $100 spent on a lack luster evening. I would say go to the store portion but skip...

let's start from the beginning... there were sophisticated non-alcoholic drinks which I love as someone who is allergic to alcohol, but still wants the aesthetic of alcoholic drinks. I got the Pam's Spa water and it was wonderful! our server recommended it and it was definitely the way to go.

moving into the appetizer... we got the mini truffle fries. they are definitely a potential competitor to my go to truffle fries at my favorite restaurant back home. the fries in general were perfect... favor and texture.

for the main course, we got the ahi fish and chips. again, fries were perfect. the fish was overpoweringly salty in some bites for me.

the cherry on top... after such a great meal, we decided we should get dessert. we got the coconut macaroon. it was incredible. usually I feel like coconut things are too much, but this was great. we got another to go an our server recommended heating it and pairing it with ice cream.

the atmosphere was very loud and not my ideal setting, but the food and service...

Expect a wait for dinner, and then another wait for them to take your drink and food order. This place is very small all put 4 seats are high bar stool type of seating in a very small space. If you get clausterphobic, this is not a place for you. It was not an inviting or comfortable atmosphere. Food was okay, nothing extra special. We had empanadas that were dry and bland, a ahi sandwich and fish sandwich that were flavorful. Drinks were good, the garden island was our favorite. The most disappointing part of this place was the service, we waited almost 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken and another 20 min to get them, all while we saw the bartender and wait staff take shots with other patrons who were dining. Over all would not recommend, there are better options on island for the price.

Aloha! This charming establishment offers an inviting atmosphere with comfortable seating and delectable cuisine. We selected Mai Tais and Margaritas, along with Ahi Poke and Ahi Au Poivre. The Ahi Poke was exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. The ahi meat in the Ahi Au Poivre was slightly overcooked, but its taste remained pleasant. The accompanying Vegan Kale salad was truly remarkable. The Mai Tai possessed a robust flavor with a pronounced leafy note, while the Margarita exhibited a milder character. It is worth noting that the staff was exceptionally friendly, and our server was very helpful in assisting us with ordering. During dinner hours, there may be a slight wait time, we waited 25mins to get a table). I highly recommend dining at this establishment during your visit to Kauai.

This is definitely a popular spot for locals and visitors, but I have no regrets about waiting for it. They had a couple of walk-in seats available, but I ordered to-go, so I could sit at one of the small tables outside the restaurant. They have lots of fresh seafood options and daily specials. I had to try the tuna belly fish and chips since I've never seen it made before with tuna. It's such an easy fish to dry out, but they miraculously made it juicy and tender while frying it. The tartar sauce was also really good and even the pickles stood out. They put a thoughtful Hawaiian touch on the plate with a pineapple slice. It was a simple, but delicious meal that shows off quality fish and skillful chefs. Fish Bar Deli is definitely worthwhile.
