Very upsetting, I’ve been eating at Porkeys for 3 years and I’ve always been very happy. Naturally when my family came to visit I was excited to show them some good food! When we went in they were pretty busy which is perfectly fine, we were ok with waiting. What we weren't ok with was the Aunty who appeared to be supervising. I repeat I and my family have absolutely no problem waiting our turn when you are busy. The first time one of the workers mentioned to Aunty about the growing line she said “oh their all on vacation let them wait and soak in the menu.” Me and my wife, residents, looked at each other concerned with what we heard. My family also questioned it. Never the less we kept waiting and Aunty just leaned against the counter yelling at the cook about how he was doing things. A couple minutes later the other worker mentioned the growing line again, and Aunty this time said “they’re here on vacation they can afford to wait,” and continued relaxing. I and my family were now extremely upset by this and felt profiled. We walked out and one of the workers was very sad to see us go but not Aunty. Mama bears down the street accepted us with open arms, smiles, fast service, and delicious food. I miss the old Porkeys, what happened to it? Everyone was so nice and happy. We have no problem waiting in line until you start...
Read moreOur experience at Porky's in Koloa was nothing short of exceptional, starting with the warm welcome from the owner, Justin Hier. Having met him during our visit to Kauai, we were drawn to his restaurant to experience firsthand the charm and passion he exuded. Our expectations were surpassed when we indulged in the Number Three sandwich, which turned out to be an absolute culinary masterpiece. This delectable creation featured a perfect blend of havarti and provolone cheeses, succulent kalua pork complemented by grilled onions, and the refreshing addition of fresh pineapple, all nestled between slices of toasted cheese bread. The crowning glory was the sweet sauce that tied everything together. Without a doubt, it stands as the most delicious sandwich my husband and I have ever had. Seriously ever.
Porky's not only boasts an outstanding menu but also provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The passion for great food and genuine hospitality shines through, making it a must-visit spot in Koloa. Justin's personal touch and the culinary excellence showcased in the Number Three sandwich make Porky's a standout gem, leaving us with unforgettable memories of the perfect end to our...
Read moreMy wife and I we're looking for lunch today driving to Waimea (10/19/2016) and I saw Porky's Cart. I decided we MUST stop (no discussion). We both had number 2's, which is a grilled hot dog with pork (of course), a pineapple relish, grilled Maui onions. We both correctly chose the sweet and spicy sauce. Not to forget the bun (it does hold every thing together) that completes the package (they are so good). I added Portuguese sausage, to which I highly recommend. The blend of flavors was simply amazing. I repeat, "Simply amazing". If you are in a hurry don't stop and go get a bland, ill prepared sandwich from Subway. Please enjoy the wait for your food and don't post how long it took for your food to be prepared. You are on Kaua'i and need to slow down and wait for the best hot dog, ever! It was worth the wait. BTW, I almost got the grilled cheese. It looked...
