Stinger Ray's Tiki Bar and Lounge — Restaurant in Kauai

This was the only place open in the airport serving drinks on a Wednesday afternoon. A long line of over a dozen people waited out the door when we arrived, none socially distancing. Slow service to seat people after people left. Lots of beers on the menu was not available. No hoppy beers at all, no IPAs. They could only make one of their 2 signature drinks on the menu, & not properly because their blender was taken away. Their was no citrus juicer, so all citrus was squeezed in her hands that had just counted cash & wiped up the counter. The bartender was distracted by drink recipes she didn’t know & the incompetence of the new employee in training with no bar tending experience. Wait times for acknowledgment, seating, orders, drinks or getting your bill ranged from 5-10-15 minutes. Some patrons came & went without ever being acknowledged or served. French fries were soggy & undercooked. Burger was served on a soggy bun. Boneless wings were a step down from McNuggets. Lots of unvaccinated patrons as per the patrons themselves, some who had had COVID-19 & refused to get vaccinated. Burger, nuggets, fries, & 4 drinks for $95+ tip. This place is a...

I want to begin by saying a HUGE MAHALO to Maureen (Moe) our server. When we walked in, she was the only one there taking care of the needs of a packed house. She greeted everyone with a smile, and the beautiful spirit of Aloha. Moe, as Tina Turner would say, "you're simply the BEST"! The food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner. The Tiki bar was filled with guests waiting for their flight. The atmosphere was jovial and friendly. Moe was super conscientious of everyone's specific requests for food or drinks. She came by on a regular basis to ask if there was anything else we needed. Seriously, whoever owns this establishment needs to give Moe a raise. She single handedly took care of the needs of 25-30 people. Because of Moe, we will most certainly revisit the Tiki Bar during our next visit to Kauai! Moe, I hope you get promoted to manager! This is tough, Meredith i think liked me and my wife. We both had 2 hours to kill and the place looked nice for a few drinks. It became apparent that Meredith needed a bar back. Handling the bar And the tables was too much. She was medium speed at the register and that caused a build up of orders. I wish i could say her personality compensated for the slow service. Maybe being understaffed contributed to her bad personality. She was negative and seemed to love to complain/ at least always sported a grimace…. Maybe a symptom of a generally unhappy life? The owner should get less greedy (if thats what it is) and add a second person to this lounge. And clean those hanging lanterns!!! The girl after Meredith, when she was off shift, was a joy. Very good personality and helpful.
