Colunga Meat Market — Restaurant in Kaufman

Let me start with this place used to be my favorite until today. I drove from Wylie to get a breakfast burrito but by the time we got there they were no longer servicing breakfast. So my son ordered a fajita burrito and then I ordered a taco (one). We chose to eat in so they bring our order and its two burritos. We were very confused since we only told the lady a burrito and one taco but since it was already paid for we just went with it. I love the salsa they bring out to your table when you dine in. Unfortunately I am not able to eat a lot in one sitting due to health issues so I asked my son to get a bag and a container for the left over salsa. They refused to give us a container and the lady at the register actually walked over to our table and grabbed the salsa and put in on the service line. She had a man tell me I couldn't take because it's expensive so I asked blatantly if they were going to reserve the salsa I had been dipping my burrito throughout eating. Mind you my food particles and my bodily fluids have already contaminated the fish and the salsa. They said that they we not going to reuse it however would not let me take the remaining salsa home with my left overs but stated they didn't want it go to waste because lit was expensive to make" but they would be throwing it away. However in the few minutes it took for us to gather our things and leave they never threw it away, which is Highly suspect. I'm pretty sure the next fine order got my left over salsa and I had the person that was before me's leftover as well. I'm not feeling well by the way you if you ate at Cogulas's today and you have stomach issues, it's not my fault. I am contagious also. But It should pass in a few days. I will be contacting the Kaufman County Health Department first thing...

Used to be one of my favorite places. No more. Ordered baked potato no meat with extra butter. The potato was barely and I mean barely above room temperature. The sour cream was straight out of the fridge so needless to say nothing was melted. I am not a person to send food back. When we left we told the young man at register and he didn't even offer a discount. Didnt even apologize.Not good business. Also I have been reading that they reuse left salsa. Has anyone actually seen that or is it...

I love this place. We love to get take out on the nights we just don't want to cook. Their stuffed baked potatoes are so good. The fajita meat has great flavor and the portions are perfect. Great place to grab lunch or dinner to take home. Service is fast and the food is wonderful. And the drive through makes it even easier. The prices are fair.

The meat market side has a great selection of meats at a good price. Seasoned meats are always just right. Their produce section is also...
