We caught lunch here on your way to Arches National Park. I was excited to dine at a Native-owned restaurant, but the food was difficult to heartily recommend.

As you seat yourself, the first thing you'll notice is that this diner is a large, open, octangular space. A pretty original layout for a restaurant. After being seated, we were attended to quickly by some kind, sweet waitstaff. They took our drink orders and soon brought very tall tumblers of ice water accompanied by little plastic containers with yellow liquid -- I thought it was a sauce. I took a sip of water and found that the tap water here is not to my liking. I discovered that the little containers are lemon juice for your water. I dumped it in and it made quite a difference.

A waitress took our orders for: Turkey club sandwich, Navajo Taco, Navajo Diced Mutton with potato salad, and Steak over steamed rice and vegetables.

My wife's Navajo (ground beef) Taco was good - basically the usual taco ingredients, with salsa and sour cream on the side, on fry bread. My wife said the meal was satisfying, the fry bread was good, but the meat was a little bland.

My son's turkey club, fries & pickle was good - it was similar to any other diner's turkey club.

My diced mutton came wrapped inside a tortilla and the lettuce, tomato, onion and potato salad came on the side. The mutton was tender and tasty but I kept on thinking that there was something missing. I added Tabasco and it was better, but was still something missing. In similar wraps from around the world, there's tahini or hummus or tzatziki to round out the taste and texture. This needed something like that. I think the star of the show was the potato salad - wow, it was really good.

My young daughter ordered the steak on steamed rice with veggies. This dish was just ok. I don't think the steak and veggies were seasoned well enough and the rice was ... well, I'm used to boiled jasmine rice, so I'm just not used to the texture steamed rice in general. The vegetables, mostly broccoli and sliced green beans, we're roasted or grilled, I believe. There is a bottle of soy sauce on each table and I think this dish would have benefitted greatly from it. Perhaps the saving grace was that this was a large portion of food. We saved half for later.

As mentioned, the staff are very nice and accommodating. I couldn't ask for nicer waitresses - she felt like family!

The dining space is interesting too, a large octagon space with a lots of natural lighting coming in from all sides as well as ceiling windows. Tables and seats are spread all around and in the very center of the floor is a showcase of pies.

The locals like this place, when we got there it was hopping. I like the service and the atmosphere, and I really wanted to give the Blue Coffee Pot more than an average overall rating, but in our experience, the food was ... Just ok. I sincerely hope they can up their game because the food isn't much better than what you can get at a...

During our exploration of Monument Valley, we traveled through the Navajo Nation and decided to try some authentic Navajo cuisine. Since there weren't many options besides fast-food chains, we chose this restaurant for lunch to support local businesses, as recommended in a review. We ordered the Navajo tacos, which are the top-rated dish on the menu, along with one serving of Navajo diced mutton. The menu indicated that The tacos came with meat, lettuce, and tomatoes. We inquired about a chicken option, but the waitress informed us that they only had ground beef, so we went ahead with the standard meat option.

When we received our orders, we noticed that the tacos did not have any meat. I called the waitress over to ask if the tacos were supposed to come with meat, and surprisingly, she said no. She then went to the counter and spoke in a native language about the meat situation, and they both went into the kitchen immediately. The waitress didn’t return for ten minutes. When she finally came back, she completely ignored us and started wandering around.

To make sure we weren’t mistaken, I pulled up the restaurant’s menu and called her back over. She returned with another lady who had been at the counter , saying she was new and didn’t know it didn’t come with meat. I pointed out that the menu states it includes meat, and we had confirmed this with her at the time of ordering. The other lady interjected, saying they didn’t have meat in the kitchen, and then told us they would remove two tacos from our bill. I agreed, but when they brought the updated ticket, it still listed three tacos and the diced mutton.

I went back to the waitress and reminded her that she said they would take off the tacos. She replied, “Oh, okay,” and then only removed one taco from the bill. I ended up paying the amount without further argument.

I was disappointed by this experience, and I want to clarify that I am not writing this to harm the restaurant's reputation. It would have been helpful if they had addressed the issue instead of us having to call them repeatedly. I'm also curious about how many other tourists like us have felt misled, especially since I noticed many people...

Horrible Customer Service at The Blue Coffee Pot I had the worst customer service experience ever at The Blue Coffee Pot restaurant in Kayenta, AZ. I was excited to eat there, but my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. After waiting a few minutes, a waitress took my drink and meal orders. However, the service went downhill from there. I waited over 30 minutes for my meal and was seriously considering leaving due to the long wait. When my meal finally arrived, I expressed my frustration to the waitress, but there was no apology or empathy. I asked to speak with the manager, only to be told that the manager was not working today. I requested the manager's contact information to share my experience, but this seemed to upset the manager who was indeed present at the restaurant. The manager/owner approached my table, took my plate without introducing herself, and said, "Go place your bad review on Facebook, because this restaurant is Indian-owned and leave." I was shocked and upset by her response. I just wanted to share my experience with the management. The Blue Coffee Pot has horrible customer service, and it's unfortunate that the manager sets such a...

What a great spot. I'm not sure what I liked the most, the amazing food or the covid safety measures. The Navajo taco was so delicious, the fry bread was perfect and the beans were really good. The chicken enchiladas were also delicious. The seasoning was rich and full, and the rice was really special with a sweeter mole type sauce. The brown gravey was really good too. We really appreciated the friendly staff, and how covid safety measures were still being enforced, like wearing a mask and high quality cleaning and sanitizing. This place is a must try, you won't regret it. We can't wait to return and try more delicious food. Thank you so much for everything, you are all appreciated by my family and me.
