Grill 36 is an incredible place to eat! Here's why: I ordered the falafel for an appetizer. The outside was crispy and crunchy and the inside was soft and warm. The dipping sauce combined with the flavors of the falafel was incredible. I inhaled them.. For my lunch I ordered the New York Chicken Gyro platter over rice. I ordered it with the spicy "kick" sauce. The chicken was plentiful and unbelievably delicious. The chicken had a beautiful flavor from being chargrilled and seasoned perfectly. Underneath the sauce and chicken was a beautiful layer of rice which hit the spot. On the side was a freshly made salad complete with olives chickpeas tomatoes you name it. The salad was incredibly delicious and fresh. I had the baklava to finish my feast and my god there aren't any words at the moment that can describe the food ecstasy that I enjoyed while enjoying each delectable bite. The only negative that I can think of in regards to Grill 36 is that they inevitably have to close at the end of day. As I write this I'm dreaming of the next time I can be so lucky to eat here again. Being that they have really nice indoor seating, my next visit will undoubtedly be a sit down meal where I can sample more of their delicious cuisine. Nothing but respect and love for this place, it's owner, and employees. Till next time, thank you for the experience!

As frequent visitors of Middle Eastern restaurants in Paterson, we were hoping to find a place closer to home with a similar quality. Unfortunately this place didn't meet those expectations. The lentil soup was bland. The yellow rice was not yellow. It was basic white rice with some seasoning making it a pale brown color. The lamb gyro seemed to be lamb chopmeat with seasonings chopped into smaller pieces. Gyro meat cut from a skewer is by far a much better tasting meat. The chicken gyro was covered in seasonings and had a good flavor but again it was chunks of cubed chicken, not cut from a skewer. The falafel was fresh and tasty. The food was okay but if you're looking for authentic Arabic food take the trip to Paterson instead.

On the way home from the Belford Ferry, we decided to stop at Grill36, a little spot right off of route 36. What a wonderful surprise! The decor is cute and comfortable, the service beyond friendly (thank you Sean and Phil), and the food delicious. The mixed appetizer platter was enjoyed by all, particularly the falafel. Our skewered chicken and lamb and gyros were all super tasty. To top it off, we had an amazing dessert of spun pastry and ricotta- Kunafa. It was everyone’s favorite and quite unique. But make sure to order it early in your meal because it’s made fresh and takes some time.

After finding a quiet little beach to explore we were hungry and wanted to find a local eatery to support and enjoy. Grill 36 doesn't look like a lot from the outside but we spotted it and decided to give it a try. The sign indicating Greek cuisine sealed the deal and I figured out how to turn around on route 36 (not a simple task). Upon entering we received a warm welcome and were able to quickly place our orders. The prices were reasonable and the portions were average. The gentleman offered to bring the food to our car and said it would take about 10 minutes. It was longer than that but so worth the wait. Delicious gyros with choice of sauces. I had tadziki which was listed as white sauce on the menu, and spicy tahini. Amazing. Other family members tried gyros, cheeseburger and the rice and shrimp platter. Great food,...

The food is really, really good and it is so reasonably priced! I will say that they are struggling a bit with managing the dining room, phone calls and those waiting for takeout. I am not sure if it was the owner but he was handling all of that by himself and I was a bit frustrated at the time. However, once I tasted the food it was well worth the wait. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they will figure those kinks out and just enjoy that there is finally a great place that offers something other than Italian, Chinese or Japanese that is so close by. We had the falafel platter and the chicken and lamb combo platter and enjoyed both with white and kicker sauce. Give this place a try please, I want...
