Dive bars are what we like to try as usually one will find excellent food, moderate pricing with an interesting atmosphere. Unfortunately, this local bar left us hungry and regretting our pick. I was disappointed as it's local, and not too many places are open after 2nd shifts are done for the day in this smaller, quiet town. We ordered our drinks while looking over the menu. Beers came out, there was zero head, and beer was only slightly chilled. We placed the food order and hung out amidst the divider wall, giving this bar a dual area with pool tables, games & the bar on 1/2, and high top tables on the other half with tv's surrounding these areas. Food came out fairly quickly. I decided on appetizers, and hubby got the tenderloin as it's typically a safe bet. Chips & queso tasted like stale chips and a hint of "I don't know what" but not chips. My fried portobello mushrooms were overcooked and dark, tasted like oil needed cleaning. Husband ate the tenderloin but quietly said it tasted overcooked and burnt. The man eats pretty much whatever is put in front of him and never complains if a meal is off. Ok, food isn't great, but we came in about an hour and 15 min or so before the kitchen closed. So this visit was later in the evening. The ticket came, and the total was $50+. Wow, pricing as follows, mushroom $11.$$ + $8.$$+14.$$ 3 beers total don't really remember other than maybe $4 /5.$$ for them. Fairly reasonable. I know prices have increased, but honestly, this meal was worth about $15 & I'd pay up to $30 especially for how it was cooked and consider giving a 2nd chance to them but not at $50+. The server did take off the chips & and dip, so we appreciated that. It somehow only dropped it to $48.$$, I believe. Having been in the food service, i feel someone should have noticed the food was definitely sub-par and had it re-cooked. I definitely wouldn't have ever served that to customers. We chose not to say anything about it as this is just how it is when you try something new. However with pricing and checks having to stretch further and date nights a rarity we will be skipping the 4 star pricing and continuing our hunt for that exceptional find of good food, good pricing that will entice us...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I walked in to have a nice lunch after spending the morning site seeing. We walked in and there was no sign indicating if we should seat ourselves, or wait. Another customer saw us standing around looking confused and let us know that we could just sit anywhere. After we arrived, we had 4 in our party, 2 other couples sat down. When the waitress finally came out, she went to both of the other tables first. About 10-15 minutes later, she finally took our drink order. Both other tables got their drinks, and again about 10-15 minutes later 3 of the 4 of us got our drinks. Eventually the server brought the final drink. While finally ordering, one member in our group requested no bun, because she couldn't have gluten. When the food finally came, the chicken was breaded, which was not mentioned on the menu at all. The server seemed unconcerned when it was brought to her atten tion. She also apologized for taking so long to get our food because they got suddenly swamped. That was news to us, seeing as no one new came in. When we tried to pay we were told that the register wasn't working and we'd have to wait until someone could fix it. All in all the food was good, just be careful if you have allergies, the service was horrible. We would not go back.
In response to the owners response, we tried to pay the entire bill. The server never wrote anything down, nor were we presented with a bill. We tried to estimate the cost of our meals and paid accordingly. Your server gave us back money. Also if you did indeed watch the security footage, you will clearly see that money was never tossed at the server, we were totally polite the entire time. If anyone says anything otherwise then they are...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewife ordered food from here, our first time was decent, but karaoke night and loud when went to pickup. tonight wife ordered food again, this time, the order was wrong and missing a meal, ( found out when asked wife about the order to verify everything was correct) and after getting home and opening everything, the tenderloin was missing the toppings and horse radish sauce thereby making it drier then the Sahara Desert and i can't blame the server cause frankly you CAN'T HEAR SHIT in this place with how loud everything is turned up.
this place is in need of a massive renovation to correct the flow. ONE move the bar to the entrance area along the east wall and have the food pickup in the lower area and remake the lower area into the more food court/table area and the upper area with the high tables and more for drinks social gathering and the loud ass music. and wall off all but the walkway so sound can come through but now over power and drown out everything.
and 15+ for chicken tenders.. and some fries? you are out your god damn mind.
Edit post response:
You can do a little elbow grease and move your current bar setup yourself with some help from friends or family, and make the flow of the place much better in the process, and save "100's of thousands" cause "DIY" there is also the fact you ignored that your employees CAN'T HEAR SHIT cause it is TOO LOUD.
as for late night food, your isn't THAT good, and i could do better with buttermilk and spiced flour. and in fact i think i'll just do that from now on. your atmosphere is chaotic, and overly loud to the point your patrons are screaming at each other to have a conversation, it's now obvious you don't really care about the place and are only interested in...
