It was kinda sketchy, but in almost a fun way. Like, what kind of new thing can we add to the list of sketchy things. The staff was super friendly, and I'm really glad they were because the rest of the experience was not super fantastic. The rooms were oddly humid, like, suspiciously humid. There were dehumidifiers in the rooms (ours and my parents room) in which WE were instructed to empty the contents of 2 per day (like, what??) By the way, we didn't request or want the dehumidifier, or the responsibility to empty it awkwardly into the sink. You basically had to stand on the toilet to dress or undress in the bathroom. The pool is across the parking lot, In another parking lot of a dentist office I think, I don't know, but there were definitely people getting root canals watching us swim. Also, pretty sure the pool is saltwater, at least I hope it was. Getting back inside the hotel is also pretty cool, theres some dangley wiring that comes out of the wall by the door, and if you touch the bottom part of the dangely wiring with the hotel keycard the door unlocks. However the same card might or might not unlock your actual hotel room door. Heads up on that one. Our particular room had a fun thing where the door stop would fall down when you shut the door which long story short actually locks you in your room. So just tape it up on the door and you'll be fine. We need a room with a fold out couch, which we got, but the couch mattress is literally, I'm not even kidding, just springs with a sheet over it. Night 2 we got a rollaway bed. You'll need that. Go ahead and get that. Oh and the lamp on the desk doesn't turn all the way off. Just unplug it. It's bright enough to keep you awake otherwise. What else, oh breakfast. They had a banana. But I wasn't out there in time for it. So, "biscuts" and gravy it is. Only the top of the biscuit is edible tho. All in all, I'd probably stay...
Read moreOur accommodation was disappointing. The pool is not a part of the property and was not allowing anyone at the time of our visit. That was one of our main reasons for booking at a hot time of year. We wanted an outdoor pool. The room is small. My husband and I were constantly in each other's way. The door to the room was right next to the sink, so if you were using the sink, you had to move so the person could go out of the room for ice or any reason. The door to the bath was right across from the sink and so if the door was opened, someone at the sink had to move. The bed had a VERY narrow path between the end of the bed and the TV dresser and refrigerator. My husband could barely get into the refrigerator without bumping the bed and while he was getting something in the refrigerator, I could not pass, even if he was getting something from the drawers, I had to wait to pass. It would be fine for one person, but I found it very crowded and we are small people. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and so was the hotel. The breakfast was ALL carbs and the juice dispenser wasn't working. I couldn't eat any of it. Biscuits and gravy and cereal and oatmeal and toast and small muffins. None of it looked tempting. We wouldn't stay there again. The location was great, easy access to interstate and not far from amenities and it was quiet. The staff was friendly. No elevator, but only one floor above ground. The stairs were wide, carpeted and had railing, so it was fine. We got the 1 king sized bed room, so maybe there is more room in the rooms with more than one bed. The sink right next to the door is a deal killer for me. It was extremely small and located in a VERY tight spot. Outlets were next to the nightstands which was nice. We had an iron and ironing board in the...
Read moreWe stayed here in Sept. 2023 for two and it was a dismal experience. I'll start with the room: Hairdryer didn't work. Had to get dressed to go to the front desk with wet hair to get a replacement. Desk clerk was aware that the dryer in the room didn't work, and had a replacement available. If you knew, why wasn't one already placed in the room? The mattress was super uncomfortable. Tossed and turned both nights and woke up with lower back pain. The bathroom sink was plumbed backwards; hot water on the right side, cold water on the left. No water pressure in the shower. I have long hair and it took a long time to rinse shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. The reading lamp didn't work, probably just needed a new bulb. The grout in the shower was discolored (moldy?) Yuk. The walls are thin, we could hear everything going on out in the hallway. Also, we were in Room 102, which backs up to the breakfast area. At 5:30 every morning, someone starts banging cupboard doors and other items preparing for breakfast. Other problems: The soft drink machine was out of order. The computer reservation system went down one morning, and the staff had no idea who was staying, who was checking out, and couldn't check in new guests. Finally, one morning one of the front desk clerks was having a loud argument with one of the other employees right at the front desk, in full view and hearing distance of anyone in the lobby or breakfast area. Very unprofessional! In summary, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if...
