Chicken Galore — Restaurant in Kearny

It breaks my heart writing this review but this place has fell off a great deal. I've been ordering Chicken Galore since the 80's. I use to order from here bi-weekly until recent years. The batter is not the same. The size of the chicken and portion are much smaller. It's obvious they don't change their oil as much as they should. It's so disappointing. Years ago, you'd see a line and people double parked to pick up food here, now you rarely see anyone ordering food here. It's a shell of what it use to be.

I chose Chicken Galore as my birthday dinner yesterday. I have always enjoyed the chicken and ribs from the Woodbridge location for easily 30 years. Being closer to the Kearny locationI thought we would try it out. I must say that I was very disappointed in my choice, especially since we purchased food for 6 people. I got the family bucket. The chicken was juicy, but not as tender as when I last tried it a few years ago. Don't get me wrong, the batter they use is still flavorful! Unfortunately, they forgot the cranberry sauce that was supposed to come with the bread rolls. My #1 complaint is that the menu and the chalk board hanging in the store both specifically mention 13 fried Oreos for one set price but the man behind the counter refused to honor that price.
