Hamburgao — Restaurant in Kearny

Although the food is pretty good for amount of traffic it gets, the service is not as good as it used to be. I stop by today and the service that I was provided was not the usual.

As I placed my order, the attendant told me that there was no more pastel de carne (3 of the 7 pasteis I ordered). I asked if they were out of it or if they could fry for me. She said they could fry, no problem, but asked if I mind waiting, which I was fine with.

I completed my order and sat at one of the tables. In the meantime, several people came and went as I sat there. Then the guy on the table close to mine, got up and asked for another pastel de carne, which one if the attendants went and got it from the display case. At this point, it's 8:19pm and I had placed my order at 7:47pm. I went to stand by the counter, since my attendant was packing a bunch of orders that were coming out of the kitchen for the delivery guy. Then eventually, she got my order, which apparently had been sitting by the açaí machines for who knows how long... They had shoved 3 coxinhas and 7 pasteis in the same small bag!

I left the place at 8:29pm only to get home and find out they gave only 1 pastel de queijo when I ordered 2 and 3 of chicken which I ordered 2. The food was cold from sitting out by the açaí machine. Nevertheless, I'm very disappointed ! This is not the first time I had an issue at this location, the other time the girl with mouse color hair and glasses was very rude to me. If I could give this place no stars I would. I bought a cheeseburger yesterday, all I simply wanted was a simple cheeseburger well done lettuce and tomato what they made I had no idea was a thick cold burger with corn and little teeny tiny pieces of some kind of fries, NO CHEESE! and God knows what else was in that burger I’m sorry, but I thought the burger was disgusting took forever to get the burger. I don’t understand why?? I was the only one there!! I got it not even warm, and the prices are crazy high 10 dollars for a nasty burger no regular fries included, that’s a rip off, if I would’ve known that burger was going to be that way I would’ve actually returned it for my money back, I will never step foot in that place again. The people are rude as well, lady asked for my name? I was the only one in there seriously?!🤷🏻‍♀️Forgot to mention Bread makes the Burger and Bread makes the sandwiches right?! Not here! Bread is and looks Stale! Food looks very unappetizing. Their photos are very un appealing. I don’t understand why this place is still running so many bad reviews. Bottom line is this place is pretty disgusting and when you see someone holding food with their fingers and their fingers look dirty what does that tell you only people like them go there! I could’ve went to McDonald’s enjoyed a nice cheeseburger and fries included for half the price and much more delicious, never again will I go to this place ever first and last time should be shut down!! I have such a love/hate relationship with this place. I'm 29 years old, I've been getting food at this place since I was in high school. The food is great. Well it used to be so much better back in the day. The service is ALWAYS terrible. I'll start with today's order. I ordered a Da Casa. Apparantly the guy taking the order heard Hamburgao Picanha. No where in any dialect of Portugese do those sound alike. When calling to rectify this situation my partner had to speak to two different people who kept telling us we were wrong. In the years and years I've eaten from this place I have never ordered any other sandwich other than the Da Casa. So we wouldn't have messed that up. THEN to further the pettiness they send the correct sandwich with the old receipt which had the wrong sandwich CIRCLED just further proving that they pay no attention to their customers when ordering. Of all the times I've ordered from this place they have only ever gotten my order correct twice. That is A LOT of mess ups. Even when we order in Portugese. I'm done with this place. If you're only going to hear what you want to hear why would you be responsible for taking orders from customers? Needless to say there wasn't one single "I'm sorry" said from either of the 2 people we spoke with. They were hell bent on telling us we were wrong when several people heard the order being made on our end. Everyone here heard Da Casa. That one person chose to hear Hamburgao Picanha.
