Glad to have found a nearby gem. My wife said it's the best steak she's had in a long time. My short rib was great as well. The sauce was instantly delicious and unexpected. Mashed potatoes were also great; smooth but also some delightful softer chunks. The French fries were amazing. I despise fries that are overly greasy. These, and I say this with high praise, were elevated McDonald's French fries. Even as the cooler through the meal they were amazing. If paired with an aioli perhaps they'd be elevated further. The seating and ambiance was also great. The seating and table were noticably clean and in good condition. The chairs being able to slide in and out on the floor was a pleasure. Nothing more annoying than a chair catching when moving. The menu like everything else was great. It's so tiring having bad menus that aren't balanced. i can really appreciate the menus design. I feel like I can come back and not have to get essentially the same thing every time and have options if I'm in a basic mood or want something more savory. Menu had varied types, but limited to only a few options which is great. Provides some variety without me having to read a book and I'm not choosing from dishes that are 90% similar. Also not shoehorned into one or two categories. The kids menu selection was also great and I didn't feel like they were offering whatever they had in the freezer. The kids mac and cheese i stole a bite of was very good and I'm pretty particular about that dish. My only thought is I think rolls are missing. They brought out great in house bread, but some warm buttery rolls seem perfect here considering the hearty meals. The in house butter is begging for it especially. Also, I think an additional appetizer that is maybe more generally a safe option would be good. It was kind of a struggle to pick one I could be blindly confident everyone would like. But this is me being overly critical. Staff was also great. Who I assume were the owners were very pleasant. It sounds like it's under new ownership? We had a late dinner at probably 730? And it wasn't too packed, but it deserves to be. I feel like I have a pretty experienced palate with matching standards and this really left its mark. Id probably expect $50/person, excluding children. There's more affordable options, but you'd probably get those on your later trips. Honestly, felt the prices were very fair and accurate. If food is expensive but good it's kind of hard to justify going back outside of very special occasions and then your food better be Michelin level. Really felt like it was very appropriate. Obviously if it was lower cost that'd be beneficial, but I didn't leave feeling like i over spent at all which to me means it was a fair deal. Again, them having some more affordable options really makes me highly likely to come back again. I have yet to have a burger for $25+ anywhere in this world that was worth it. Can't wait to go back and try different dishes.

So happy to see and experience the improvement to the neighborhood. We were searching for local eats and could hardly believe all the "recent" 5 Star Ratings for a dining option that we neglected to revisit over the last 15 years. Needless to say, the new owners and management have put some time, money and thought into this establishment, and it really shows. We were kind of surprised that the name wasn't changed as it's going to take time before others who have dined here years ago will be willing to reconsider and take the risk. Good portions, great food, something for everyone. Hoping they bring back the baked potato. My only reason for the 4 out of 5 star rating on Atmosphere is the booth lighting, yes, I'm that picky, lighting is everything to me. The booths have an odd color lighting that shines on your table's faces and makes the food color and date look a little less appealing. I'm guessing they are around 6000k (industrial white/blue) while a 2000k would be more appealing.

Congratulations to the new owners!!!!!!! Their new menu is going to be absolutely amazing. The wine list is going to be extensive and perfectly paired. The food was incredible and melted in your mouth. The portions were beyond filling and the homemade desserts like the carrot cake are mind-blowing. The short rib melts in your mouth. The crab cake actually taste like crab and the rest of the menu will make your mouth water. The homemade soups are Hardy, filling, a great start to any meal. The seafood bisque was actually filled with seafood and flavor. They're zip sauce is fresh and homemade and perfect for their fillet. The calamari sauce is a must and is also on the crab cakes so make sure you get extra. The service is professional in the management is actually on the floor. Making sure that everything is good. It has that family atmosphere, vibe and is well run. Can't wait to go back!

Buckle in, this is going to be a long one. I've been coming here on and off my whole life and the reason for the decline of this place is so glaringly obvious, I can't believe no one has pointed it out. In the simplest of terms, the employees and their friends and family are WAY too comfortable.

Due to the lack of business, we are all seated in the bar area. I used to sit at the tables but the lack of attention to drink refills was ridiculous. You make alot of money off of drinks, why am I waiting 15-20 minutes for a new drink when the waitresses at max have 3 tables? So I started sitting at the bar. And now I know why the service is slow. The past 5 times I have gone in the past couple of months it has been the same problem. It is either employees coming in on their off days, their families, or friends. They sit up at the bar area, they are extremely loud (louder than all of the regular patrons combined), they distract the waitresses working with conversations, and there is ALWAYS a small child at the bar. Not only do they receive special treatment when It comes to the speed at which they are served, at some points all of the people that are currently working will be surrounding them. I am paying for a more high end type of meal and i just want to relax and unwind. And yet I am stuck listening to loud children, knocking things over (I put my headphones at full blast and still could hear it) and the people with the kids are matching their volume. It is obvious everytime with these groups of people that there is a relation to staff. So I am now forced to be in a bar area with loud children THAT SHOULD NOT BE SITTING AT A BAR. You guys need to open back up the bigger area for people to sit at. Its not that much further of a walk, and your paying patrons can get some peace and quiet. Your employees are way too comfortable, which is nice to show that it's a great work environment, but your patrons do not enjoy it. I listen to it everytime from other tables complaining about the noise levels and lack of service.

You guys need to decide what you are. Are you a high quality restaurant? Because you're not acting like it. If you want to act like a bar, you need to rebrand to being a bar. You also need to decide what's more important when it comes to your customers and what matters more. I personally think that making sure new customers have a great time so that they return with their business is more important than making sure the employees and their families are having a good time.

The food has always been great, and I really do want to keep being a patron here, but I am leaving this review so that the owner can hopefully get some...

Absolutely astounded at how horrible this turned. I came in with my mom for my birthday dinner and we made sure to come on a Monday to get the crab dinner special. Then my mom texted me that apps are half off until 6pm so I raced out of work to make it by 5:30. I believe our server was Nick and we had him double check the special before ordering 4 appetizers and life was great. The cocktail sauce is mostly horseradish so be prepared if you get that. All else was well until the crab came and the second helping was still partially frozen (the bellies) which holds a lot of meat! Our server took the bellies back and insisted on bringing another cluster so I was happy. Instead I got a plate of 4 crab claws which would normally be great but these things were rotten! The meat was very hard and had no flavor and they were yellow! I had to spit it out immediately! Apparently the kitchen claimed they “are not rotten they were just over cooked and waterlogged” whatever the hell that means! (GROSS) After informing the server he took them back and brought me back a new cluster like what was originally promised. This one was sub par and just gross looking but I didn’t feel like complaining anymore so I dealt with it. I then asked for a dessert menu but apparently there was none available so I was verbally told an incorrect menu and was not able to get the dessert I wanted but since he said it would be free I just ordered the cake my mom wanted since there was no actual strawberry shortcake. The cake was amazing! HERE IS WHERE IT ALL WENT WRONG (as if enough hadn’t already happened) We got the bill and only two of the four apps were discounted AND they only took $5 off the $7 dessert which is extremely cheap. Also the total increased after the whole $5 discount!!! Unbelievable and it gets worse! Our server took the bill back and then returned to our table to basically say it was his fault he didn’t bring us the “discounted appetizer menu”. If it’s your fault then WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?! Well turns out this owner “is cheap” so when I asked to speak to the manager we were informed that she “was here earlier but had gone home for the night” Brilliant. So at this point we were so fed up we just wanted to get the hell out of there. I wondered why we were the only ones in there eating but now I understand. Absolutely no customer service. Sub par food and lack of management. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place isn’t around too much longer with that kind of...
