D'Angelo Keene had been one of my go-to's for a meatball or steak sub and some clam chowder with excellent service for almost 20 years, but this is, unfortunately, no longer true. My last 4 experiences, beginning with tonight follow...
Tonight I waited on hold for several minutes, only to have someone very obviously pick up and then hang up on my call. Nice!
On July 8, I placed an order which was apparently cancelled, however no one ever notified me of the cancellation. I just patiently waited for my order until after closing time, and then had to make other arrangements once many other restaurants were closed. Lovely!
My last "successful" order was supposed to be a large meatball sub with extra marinara. The sub arrived unusually dry though notably untoasted, with a medium order of meatballs on a large roll, though I was charged full price. Exceptional!
The last time before that that I received my order, once again a large meatball sub with extra marinara. I received 6 dry meatballs, with no cheese, in one of the rice bowl containers. No bread to be seen. I can honestly say I've never received such service elsewhere!
I'm not trying to be petty, but these orders end up being over $30 each, WHEN they are received, and this has become increasingly disappointing. Perhaps this location should close until they can actually provide service including the orders people...
Read moreI placed an order online for delivery. I left instructions about delivery and waited. After an hour, I called the restaurant about my order. They told me a dasher had come and picked it up and it should be here shortly. Waited another 15 minutes and started investigating. It turns out that even though i left specific instructions as to which door and to knock, they had just left it at my front door (which we do not use) in the rain. My order came to $85 including a $10 tip for the driver. When we finally got our food, a good deal was missing and the things that were there, were awful!! The large lobster grinder i ordered with NO LETTUCE, mayo on bread and american cheese turned up with TONS of that terrible shredded lettuce, dry bread, no cheese and not nearly what i used to get for lobster in a large. We ordered chips, never got them, the broccoli cheddar soup was so thick (like yogurt or thicker) and sour, it was inedible. Also, I ordered Italian bread (new option) with the soup and paid for it and didnt get it. When we realized the mistakes, we tried to call the restaurant the rest of the night and they would not answer. I am livid right now because in this day and age, with everything so costly, if i pay $85 for food, I expect the best. I am sorely disappointed and will not be ordering again as this is just the final straw of a long time of...
Read moreI was out for a walk in Keene when my tummy got the rumbleys, the kind of rumbleys only a sandwich could satisfy. When faced with the decision of a breakfast sandwich from Dunkin next door or a grilled sandwich from D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches I had to follow my nose. When I walked in the door to D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches I was greeted by the smell of delicious sandwiches and a handsome gentleman by the name of Tristan. With the menu so vast with options to choose from I had to ask my new beautiful friend Tristan what his favorite was, to which he replied "The Chicken Vermonter slaps so hard you'll never want to eat anything else." To which I replied "If it will rock my world that hard I'll take 2, one for now, one for later." Oh man was he right, the delicate bread, the saucy chicken, and the melty cheese met with the cool vegetables in a medley that would make god himself weep. Eating this sandwich made me forget all my woes and brought some joy to my life. Tristan deserves the world for changing my life in the most unsuspecting way, and provided top notch service start to finish. I love you Tristan, I'll...
