I would give it a zero but the lady at the counter was real nice..besides her that place is a mess..to start out with I came in a few days ago and the gentleman who doesn't know his elbow from his adams apple directed me to the incorrect paperwork then proceeded to tell me anytime there wasn't cars on the practice course I was more than welcome to practice...fastforward to 2 days ago when I,In person went into the dmv to confirm my scheduled driving test.. appointment was confirmed and I was told I'm good..then today comes..I show up 30 min early and proceeded to start practicing before my test..the course mind u in in a public parkinglot that is also home to off campus housing parking .there are no signs that state you cannot ride there..infact there are always cars parked there..so as I'm practicing this old guy who clearly picks on people because he was yelling at a harley rider just before this and was clearly bullied in school or was the bully proceeds to scream at me for riding in a public parkinglot..he made me feel so low that I teared up already suffering from severe anxiety problems that I've been previously diagnosed for.after he berates me in a public place and makes me get teary-eyed proceeded to tell me I did not have a appointment that if u remember correctly had already verified 2 days prior along with received my confirmation email.so now here I am already been screamed at along with being told now that my appointment I had made didn't exist..so finally after having a massive panic attack at the counter while everyone watches the kind lady at the counter finally figures out that they have to schedule me a appointment for another 7 days from the day I had already suffered sleepless nights over...then as I'm on my way out another lady stops me and says wait we have a 930 cancelation so wait...i walk up to the counter they tell me no i cant schedule it for today..i walk out side and the instructor says the lady didnt know what she was talking about..after that he goes inside goes into a back room i here arguing and then comes out and finally says OK we will squeeze u in then tells me I'm supposed to be inspected even know I'm still before the ten days required by state law to get a inspection sticker..I then ask him where would one go for a inspection sticker..he then proceeded to tell me that I should be able to go to any local gas station and they should help me right out...first of all gas stations do not do inspections and only certain places do motorcycle inspections...as a state dot instructor shouldn't you know better...this was by far the worst experience I have EVER had at a state ran facility..you belittled a man that already has a tough enough time facing the world everyday I hope you are proud...
Read moreUnfortunately had a poor experience at the Keene DMV. I had a reservation at the beginning of the day during which I planned to process two transactions. The first transaction required the reservation and the second required documents certified during the first transaction. My experience with the first transaction was very positive and I appreciated my time with Tucker (supervisor).
The second transaction is one typically done through the drop box service but I asked if I could do it at the window while I was being served. I was surprised to hear that wouldn't be acceptable. The statewide DMV website says that drop box "may be used" for these types of transactions, but everything else on the site implies that these transactions can be processed at the window as well if you are lucky enough to score a reservation.
Although the building was nearly empty and the lines were very short, I was instructed to place my documents in the drop box nonetheless. I was not given a time estimate on when the processing would be complete but was told that it could well be within the same day.
I was unhappy to see that the clerks interpreted "the drop box may be used" as "the drop box must be used," but I was fine with it as I had my entire day free and could wait for the (very hard-working) clerks to process my request later in the day. To be clear, I have no issue with the first-come/first-serve nature of drop box transactions, but it seems insane to me that they cannot be processed at the window when I have a reservation and the lines are so short.
I returned to the DMV four hours later to ask if they had had a chance to review my brief request. They had not, but more importantly they were still unable to provide any information regarding when they'd be able to do it. There were still three hours remaining in their workday and the lines were no longer than they were in the early morning. I chose to stay, assured that they'd call me as soon as the paperwork was processed. The DMV closed at 4:30 PM and I was left without the documents and unable to legally drive my car for at least four days over a holiday weekend.
In the future I will drive further to the more rural DMVs if it means I can get all of my (simple!) transactions done in one day. I think it is reasonable that I be able to get everything done within seven hours.
Although the people at this DMV are very nice and helpful, their processes leave a lot to be desired. It says a lot about this DMV that my two-star review is raising its...
Read moreWow! I have coming to Keene DMV since 1984. This is the worst experience I have ever seen. Totally unorganized. I had to get new plates in order to drive my car legally. Pretty important! I tried to make an appointment online to comply with the new requirements, however the earliest date was 9 days out. This is something that was easily taken care of just three years ago in 15-20 minutes. I arrived at 8 am. They asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, so they told me to have a seat and that I was a walk in. There was two employees out of three positions. They continued to receive people coming in and told them to wait as they did not have an appointment. The employees seemed to be doing nothing but walking in and out of the door in back. They were coming out to the front and putting signs up with packing tape. They seemed to be waist of time. People started to get angry and asking them how long they were going to have to wait. Who is in charge of these DMV employees? So! It is 12:15 pm and I am still here! After being here this long, it’s obvious that they are not taking care of walking. No appointments have come in and nobody has been helped...
