$93 Trash 🗑️ I waited over a year to eat at this establishment, and I was deeply disappointed. We got there at 5:30, with a reservation, and did not eat until 6:45, it was not even busy when we arrived. However, A group of about eight people showed up had their food within 20 minutes and were gone 10 minutes before we got our food. The waitress was extremely dismissive and did not seem to acknowledge that we were there unless I called her over, she seemed to be more favorable to the older people at the tables. We had to ask twice where our food was, and were not once checked in on, Other than the guy who brought us over a fresh pitcher of water. The appetizers were good. We received the artichoke and got a side of nann bread, which was delicious. However, I ordered the polenta for dinner with a $11 side of salmon, which was literally 2 inches long and one and a half inches wide. Absolutely absurd price for such a small portion. Not impressed, will not be returning, although I’m sure they don’t care considering they clearly reserve proper treatment for older people.

We arrived sans reservation during a light rain. We'd walked the downtown of Keene when some other plans went awry. Just as we emerged from a bookstore, the rain picked up. We hiked as quickly as we could the blocks back to the car, parked on the square and deposited the haul of books. We started looking for a place for dinner in earnest at that point. Told there was a long wait at a nearby eatery, we said " no, thanks" and investigated Luca's. The gentleman doing the seating kindly accommodated us at a two top. We had a fabulous meal. Cavatappi Alfredo (hubby) and Chicken Française (my choice). Our waiter Nathan was able to read a table perfectly...he was attentive without becoming overbearing. We didn't have wine with the meal, but I heard him give what I would consider excellent advice on a wine to pair with dinner to the couple at the next table. We ordered a salad and iced tea each and for two, an excellent meal came in at just over $60. This was one of the best meals of our vacation to date. Bravo, Luca's!!

Once of the best in the area for those who are not interested in eat and run. A true laid back and relaxing environment to simply decompress, enjoy a drink and fabulous food! I would recommend calling to make reservations as this is a very busy place. Parking can also be a challenge depending on the time and day. We decided to come here spur of the moment and had a 20 minute wait . This was fine as there is plenty to see and do well within walking distance. We received the call that the table was ready, we walked back over and was seated. We had a late lunch , "around 2:15" and we discovered that they close to incoming customers between "I think" 3:00 to 5:00? So be prepared for this as well. How ever, the quality of the food is fabulous. Portions, the protein, fat and carb ratios were spot on as well! And deserts, Yes! Pricing is very reasonable for the food as well. We will be recommending Luca's to every one we know!

Biggest plus in my opinion? No BOOKING! Which was a surprise to me, and a lucky shot for my 2nd try at a tipping establishment. First come first serve, is the best practice in my opinion (as long as I'm first lol).

They were pretty fast with the food delivery, and the apricot salad we blind ordered was actually amazing.

If they had any vegan dishes besides salad, would have definitely rated 5*

Update:

So, my 2nd visit to the restaurant. What can I say, the owner is quite an outstanding person!

He explained to us that about every dish can be made into a vegan dish! You may think, yeah, well usually making a dish vegan takes away from the flavor, that is what I expected as well! Except, the people in the kitchen know what they're doing, and fully deserve their wages, because the dishes were made vegan, without sacrificing flavor. Whatever your heart desires, Luca can make it happen!

If I did not know that the food was vegan, I would have not believed if you told me it was, and I have been to many vegan places, in many states. So far Lucas is #1 on my list, the fact that they are willing to do the extra mile to not leave out the vegan population speaks for itself! I visited a considerable amount of places where the response is sorry salad is the only vegan item.

If you are vegan, and you are looking to spoil yourself with some delicious food, I can not think of a better place to recommend! 10/10

PS: Price wise, I believe it's super reasonable. At Panera it costs us $30 for 2. At Lucas $60, however, you must consider the fresh produce, the food is made on the spot for you, instead of being frozen god knows for how long, and the service is just not comparable. We also had ordered 5 dishes. Very affordable for what you get in my opinion.

Update: The above is no longer true, the ownership has changed, and it has not been the same since. Menu changed, and quality...

We had a gift Card from a close friend given to us for a retirement gift for us to eat here. The service was HORRID from the moment we walked in I couldn't find anyone to seat us. We wandered into a bar area and asked if we could sit there and she said yes and I said I didn't see anyone and we were chastised for not using the correct door. Ill mention the door we went in was right under the sign. Then we got a drink menu. I couldn't find anything I could think of drinking on it so I got a canned cider. We ordered the fried duck wings as an appetizer. They were drumsticks. And cold. And soggy. Also the beans that came with them were cold and dry and disgusting, cornbread was like rubber. And also cold. The meals came, She forgot my side of fries. The brisket tasted like it came from a can. Mac and cheese was good but there was so much garlic that I was sick for 3 days after that. My husbands burger was average. When we were finished I asked to get the fries to go and mentioned she forgot them and she said OH, and then charged us for them! While dining, the waitress and bartender who was the manager was obnoxious. Did NOT wear gloves cutting fruit for the bar. The staff including her, was rude to other people coming in saying they went to the wrong door also. The single patty burger, mac n cheese, some wings and a couple drinks was OVER 100$ for LUNCH. Small plates. Not good, I would not go back or recommend anyone go there. We also were harassed by a homeless man when we left. My husband nearly knocked him out when he got in our faces. I do not recommend. Such a shame. Lucas was so...

My wife and I visited Luca's 12/26 for lunch. She and I had our first date at Luca's over nine years ago, so the restaurant has been special to us. We frequent the restaurant numerous times per year for two reasons, quality and nostalgia. We have had mixed experiences over the years, but the Greek salad is a side that has been consistent and delicious. The main menu is hit or miss in our opinion, but we have increased our patronage since Nicolas closed. Yesterday we had an awful experience and it was not just us. The entire restaurant was not pleased with the wait times on the food. They had one lady waiting tables and one lady running the plates out. We waited nearly 30 minutes for a drink and close to an hour for a burger. The burger was undercooked and quite disappointing. I heard other people complaining about the wait. My assumptions are that they were not properly staffed on the front end with servers and in the kitchen. My perspective is that this was a failure in management. I am not sure when we will return based on the last visit. To make things worse, the bill did not align to the value received, or lack thereof. None of this was the fault of the server who was quite nice despite the shortcomings of the restaurant operations. My review is written for the public, but moreover for management to take notice that the performance yesterday affects the mindshare of their patrons and the influence reached more than 20 people just while...
