$0.35. That's the difference between me quietly putting up with this place every week (because my daughter loves it) and deciding instead to call them out for their miserable failings as a restaurant.
The worst is up first... The bathrooms! Jiminy Christmas! If King Kong regurgitated half a ton of diapers loaded with diarrhea, it couldn't possibly top the stench. First thing I do in any restaurant is wash my hands, but in this place the smell hits my gut like a belly flop from the Empire State Building.
Next up is the service... There must be a contest to see who is better at ignoring customers. I've literally had to lean over the counter to get some attention only to witness the lone attendant tucked in a corner with her nose buried in her cell phone. 'Scuse me, just need to order some food over here... Seriously, the cook sees me standing there for an eternity and doesn't bother to say a thing. I would like to offer an honorable mention on service, though. On multiple occasions I've had someone come out to try and fix the soda machine.
But the dang soda machine... What the heck is up with that thing? I've been coming here for months and it's always on the fritz or out of half the options.
And what about the 35 cents? Well, that's how much I was asked to pay for one lousy container of sauce. It has probably always cost that, but I've never been charged. Today, they had a big ol' sign to let you know it costs extra. My meal didn't come with any so I came back to the counter, waited the requisite eternity, then was told I have to pay 35 cents.
No, thanks. Keep your sauce. Matter of fact, keep your food. Keep ignoring your bathrooms, your broken machines, and your customers. There are so many options within 5 minutes of this place that get all of this right and give the...
Read moreI have had issue after issue with the night shift. On one visit I waited over 30 minutes for an order that was placed online prior to coming to the store. I ended up leaving because of the wait and they were unable to refund because the order was completed online. Issues were followed up with a manager that night.
After that visit, we placed another order where my daughter picked up the order. The drive through attendent with long wavy hair was the same drive-thru attendant from the prior visit. She started making jokes to other employees about our last visit and made it a very uncomfortable experience my daughter.
I decided to call the store to discuss the unprofessionalism and asked to talk to a manager. The woman that answered said she was a manager and said she didn't know the situation so I started to explain the situation in more detail. As I am explaining she stopped me to pretty much tell me I am stupid for complaining on a 16 year old girl working the drive-thru, then hung up on me. Come to find out later it was the employee pretending to be the manager. There was also a concern the food was contaminated this night by the employee in retaliation for complaining the first time.
These visits were followed up with the head manager and he assured me the situation would be addressed. A month later, we were in the area and decided to see if the situation improved. We arrived and it was very slow. The same employee from the first two visits was working. She was sitting on top of the counter where food is prepped and texting on her phone, so we left without ordering .
This place has good food but poor customer service on night shift. Our family will not be visiting this location until the night staffing issues...
Read moreThere are eight unsightly stumps in front of the building - the trees were removed without a permit and I believe they have been ordered by the city to replace them. The new white paint shows grime, the interior remodel replaced none of the torn up booths. Instead, the remodelling consisted of removing the center section of the restaurant, and trash receptacle is in an empty corner instead of close by the east exit/soft drink bar where it should be instead. The food was ok, if you like soggy lettuce.
I find the attempt to make Zaxby's more visible a cheap, painful eyesore, made especiallly cheesy by branding an old car and parking it permanently in front of the restaurant. This is not good marketing. It is quite the opposite - a turnoff. We used to visit this Zaxby's at least once a month, but today was our farewell visit until the owner shows a little respect to the Keller community. The team serving us today was fine, so this is mainly about the ugliness that has been created on the corner of Bourland and Keller Parkway. I would much prefer a multicolor art mural over the entire building than a place that looks like it's getting a final last-minute polish before...
