Panera Bread — Restaurant in Kelly Township

First off and foremost, this was my first time visiting this location of Panera Bread. With that being said, I will definitely be returning!

Upon entering I was greeted by several employees (I realize this is a common practice within the fast food/quick service industry); however this greeting was something of a different sort. It wasn’t your typical mundane “Welcome to McDonalds” type of song and dance. The greeting was actually genuine, to me, that goes a long way.

Once ordering I had the pleasure of ordering through a women who ended up being the General Manager, her name was Cara. Cara was swift, polite, helpful with suggestions, smiled, and maintained eye contact as much as possible (looking back and forth at the screen to input the order) during the transaction. It was obvious that her positive demeanor was positively rubbing off on her employees, definitely a real life “lead by example” situation.

Fast forward after a few minutes wait I received my order and sat to begin to eat. I took notice as to how clean the dining area was. The tables were wiped clean, chairs in their proper places, and no noticeable crumbs/trash on the floor. My visit was later in the day and yet the dining area looked as if they had just opened. To me, this was a nice change of pace versus the normal fast food/quick service eating environments.

Upon finishing my meal I placed my used dishes in the desired area and began to exit the building, only to hear several comments along the lines of “thank you”, “drive safely”, and “have a good day”. A cherry on top of a great visit.

Ordered from the App today. First item ordered was BBQ chicken salad and extra BBQ sauce was requested. Second item ordered was a Baja bowl with extra Greek yogurt and extra salsa verde. Went inside to pick up the order. Order was bagged up and appeared ready to go. I checked to make sure the order was correct because to be honest every time we request extra dressing it’s never put in the bag until we ask when we are in picking up the order. When I looked at the salad I saw not only was there no extra BBQ sauce, there was no BBQ sauce at all with the salad. When I asked the employee for the BBQ sauce she replied that they are out of BBQ sauce. The Baja bowl was at the bottom of the bag and I just assumed it would be correct. I got home and pulled out the Baja bowl to see not only was there not extra Greek yogurt there was NO Greek yogurt at all. I can only assume they ran out of Greek yogurt also, but honestly do not know why there was none on my bowl. I understand it may be difficult for restaurants to get all their usual ingredients, but in the past when they were out of something we were notified when ordering on the App. Not to mention just bagging up the items and placing them out to be picked up when people specifically asked for extra of whatever the ingredient you are out of isn’t...

First time at this location. Had a Buy 1 Get 1 for $5.00 Reward. Also had a 50% off sweet with purchase of an Entree and a Drink Reward. These rewards come through your app so best to sign up and also check it. Make sure if you order on the app you Customize the entrees First before you add it to your order. If not, it is harder to go back & adjust order. Some options do not cost extra. All extra charges are shown as you make your choices. I like to order On the app in the parking lot so we can take our time with the options. Also, I like to buy online gift cards when they have their 20% off sale. I purchase a $50 gift card for $40. I add the gift card to the Panera app so I can pay the online order with it instead of using my credit card. Save on the gift card and save with the coupons. If not, Panera can be a little pricey.
