I stopped here for a quick afternoon snack, it had just opened. Extremely sterile ambiance: Cold, white, tile floor, plain table and chairs, stainless steel shelving TO GO unit right by the door, prominently displayed. I ordered the spicy shrimp soup, because the waiter assured me it was NOT spicy, however it was EXTREMELY spicy, so the broth was wasted and there were rubbery, OVERcooked shrimp in the soup. I had also ordered the dumplings, which arrived looking oddly bright yellow, unappetizing, misshapen, flaccid, and UNDERcooked. I ate one and immediately sent the dish back, because it was as terrible as it looked, and then they had the nerve to decide "if they would charge me for it!" (How rude!) Altogether I spent $10, for just the soup and a $2 tip. I don't mind paying a lot, and will heavily tip, if the food and service warrant it, but CHANA THAI KITCHEN is so very underwhelming, I doubt it will even be here by the end of the year. Bring in some color, some pleasant music, some pretty rugs, Thai decor, a server who doesn't hover, and a chef who can properly heat food, then there's hope. Otherwise, this place...
Read moreThis place houses modern Thai-Japanese cuisine. Chana Thai is one of my brother’s favorite places to go for Thai food. They have plenty of options here. From sushi rolls, Thai appetizers, and various entrees. For lunch, they offer a $15 lunch box special which is a good bargain for what comes with it.
The food and staff are great here. Our waiter recommended the salmon tartar for an appetizer and it had great flavor. Normally for appetizers, I like to order the Firecracker Tuna, curry puff, salmon tacos, and the classic chicken satay with peanut sauce. I’ve had chicken satay so many times in my life and I never get tired of it. We also ordered a tuna roll which was tasty.
No matter what, I always order the vegetable fried rice and some sort of chicken curry. Two Thai staples that get the job done in terms of carbs and protein. Who can go wrong with fried rice and chicken. Exactly it’s that good.9/10 I always take leftovers home to go because I don’t want it to go to waste and I like to reuse the bags with the yellow smiley faces that tell me to...
Read more12/15/18 I just ordered online a Nam Sod Salad. When I arrived at the restaurant at the designated time and showed the lady what I ordered, she got the "Oh No" look on her face and ran it to the kitchen. Then, when I got home there was NO Lettuce at all on the Nam Sod. It was the blandest meal I have ever eaten. Plus, it was $12, which is $2.00 higher than other local Thai restaurants. They also did not ask how hot you want it...mild, medium, or hot. We also ordered the Coconut soup which was very sweet with No spicy-ness to it. This was our first experience here and will definitely NOT come back. We order the exact same order from both Sea Siam and Tani Thai restuarants in the area and they are great! We wanted to try this place because it was closer. But, I recommend you go to Sea Siam or Tani Thai if you want good Thai food with...
