We recently decided to try Macanudo, a new Argentinian restaurant in the Hammocks, and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by our waiter, Pablo, who was welcoming, friendly, and clearly excited to share the experience with first-time guests.
Pablo gave us a great overview of the menu and made some excellent suggestions. We started with the Provoleta—a melted cheese appetizer served with two pieces of freshly baked bread. It was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to kick things off.
For the main course, we had the Milanesa steaks, which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive—we tried the mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries, house fries, and a side salad with the house-made olive oil and balsamic dressing. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned.
One thing that really stood out was how clean the restaurant was—everything from the dining area to the restrooms was spotless, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Pablo’s service throughout the meal was outstanding. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a great eye for detail. His homemade lemonades were also a highlight—refreshing and perfectly balanced.
Before leaving, we picked up some of their popular empanadas to take home. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—and we definitely want to come back to try their breakfast menu....
Read moreLooking for a new experience, my girlfriend was told by a friend to visit this establishment. Though a bit out west from our Pinecrest, we went with plenty of curiosity and hunger.
We were not disappointed with this locale at the busy Hammocks Shopping Center. The atmosphere could be described as a clean and welcoming cafe, with plenty of comfortable seating and soothing romantic salsa.
For starters, we ordered 3 empanadas. She had a meat one, while I tried spinach and cheese with onions. She loved hers, while I was fascinated with the spinach. Cheese with onions mixed well with the spinach.
On to the main course, our server Pablo suggested the parrillada, which was tempting. She went with the picaña, while I chose the flap meat. The food was tasty and well-proportioned, including our sides of garden salad and mashed potatoes. For dessert, we had a Pavlova - an amazing mix of sweet (merengue and dulce de leche) and tart (freshly sliced strawberries).
Back to Pablo, his conversation and knowledge of cuisine was impressive. We were delighted by his story of the American dream and were grateful to deal with the actual proprietor. We wish him well and look forward to returning soon, truly grateful for a...
Read moreDespite how good their items may be, their customer service is non-existent. I placed an order today that was nearly $200 for an event that I was hosting. When I placed the order online, the estimate was 25 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and was told they needed another 15 minutes. No problem. One hour later I left with my order, late to my event. They could have easily picked up the phone to alert me they could not meet the estimate provided, but instead they had me stand there waiting while telling me the order would be “right out” over and over. At the end when I professionally and courteously pointed out to the server at the counter that the order took over an hour and the predicament it caused for me, she was unapologetic, took no accountability, and told me “the orders take the time that they take”. First...
