This is my Fourth or fifth time at this restaurant and something has changed. Either management, ownership, or chef because itâs not the same. Originally you would find the owner welcoming guests, going around the table asking how was everything or sitting at a table.
Let me start by saying that originally when you would be seated, they would offer you complimentary sangria and 1 small empanada per person. This was a nice welcoming token by the restaurant. Well now they do not even offer you bread. Also lack of good Argentinian Wine by the glass. Last night they only had one Malbec by the glass and it was very cheap young wine.
Service is great and the staff are very attentive. Location as described by others is cozy.
Now to my major complaint. The steaks the last two times have come undercooked as you can see in the picture. To me itâs very upsetting when a steak is not delivered at the right temperature. This is something that should not be hard to miss especially by probing the steak for temperature. From the moment I received this steak I knew it was undercooked even before cutting it. They bring it out on a hot skillet which I had to leave it on the skillet until the skillet had cooled off. Even by doing this, the steak was still undercooked. My temperature request was medium and clearly the steak was rare.
To the owners, you are representing yourself as an Argentinian steakhouse. You are lacking consistency. Steaks should be cooked to right temperature with no excuse. They specialize in meats, and indeed, they take it to an art form. However, they also offer other plates like Mac and cheese for kids and Rissotto. You would think: Why eat pasta at a steak restaurant? ...and you would be wrong. My son had the most amazing Mac and cheese he (and I) has ever tried (his words!). It is made at home, no ready-made food or microwaved stuff here! Made on the spot and amazing taste! My wife had the risotto and the same experience..out of this world good! The first time, I originally came for the tomahawk, but they were out, so I ordered the ribeye (2lbs).. and boy, was it good! Super excelent! So today, I was up for the ribeye again to share with my wife, but since she got the risotto, I went for the NY steak. Once again, right on the spot, super tender, juicy, and amazingly tasty! I ordered it with vegetables and I was the happiest man on earth! For desert, we had the flan and a scoop of ice cream, and both were amazing, too (especially the flan).
