Siam Palace has been my family's go-to restaurant for years. We have celebrated many a birthday, graduation, Mother's Day, Father's Day, there.
Kumar, the owner, is extremely attentive and is happy to go above and beyond to offer outstanding service and make right anything that may have been wrong. The servers today were excellent and we hope to see them stay a while as they were very friendly and professional and offered service with a smile.
Last but not least, the food. As I said, my family and I have been going here for years and for very good reason. To say the least, the food is phenomenal. My personal recommendation on appetizers if you only get one is the Thai veggie spring rolls. The sauce, the refreshing veggies, the crispy deep fried wrapper... totally delish!! Coconut shrimp also a great pick. Try a super sweet Thai tea to wash it all down. Our favorite Sushi rolls are the Sumo roll that has an amazing saucy seafood topper, and the Miami hurricane roll that is a wonderful tribute to our canes with a green and orange roe. The presentation is superb, great for out of town guests and first timers. If you have any vegans in your party, the veggie roll is one of the best I've had.
Thai entrees, the Pad Thai is always a great pick, seafood and chicken being my favorite, but today, Kumar recommended the veggie Pad Woon Sen with the tiny clear noodle. It was absolutely delicious, and I savored every bite and then some!! If you're vegan be advised that they use eggs and oyster sauce. There are so many other choices as well. Pad see ew is really good with the broader noodle, the teriyaki items are great as well, had a mixed veggie dish with your choice of protein... very yummy but not sure what it was called. One of the great things I love about all their dishes is that the veggies aren't overcooked. They are still crunchy and taste like they would in their natural state.
I highly recommend Siam Palace; my inner fat girl would live here if she could, and my inner vegan would approve with minor adjustments to each dish.
Thanks again to Kumar for exceptional service...
Read moreSiam Palace is a great lunch stop in Hayward. A friend took me out here for a quick fill up and we both enjoyed our food. It is a quiet dimly lit atmosphere with very little distraction, so bring your own entertainment.
She ordered a vegetarian mango panang curry and I the beef pad see ew, it didn't take long for our food to arrive (maybe 8 minutes). I always like the type of noodle used in pad see ew, Siam Palace did not disappoint on the classic texture; while not the most flavorful example of this dish I have had, it was still good. The veggie mango panang was the winner of this meal, by far. The mango was warm, not overripe, but not tart and underripe, cut into meaty chunks, and accompanied by a medley of vegetables. The Panang curry sauce was delicious, I would have drank it if I were certain no one would know. Portion size was American, a little too much for health, but not quite enough to make me need a nap after.
It was an enjoyable experience, the service was not overbearing but polite. I would like to...
Read moreI recently visited Siam Palace and was extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered the Volcano roll, the Sushi bomb, and a soup. The food was bland and lacked flavor, and the service was slow and unaccommodating. The sushi, in particular, was disappointing as the fish was not fresh, had a rotten fish smell, and the rolls were poorly constructed. I told the manager that I did not want the Volcano roll because it smelled awful, but she brought me the Sushi bomb. At that point, I didn't want to continue eating there, so I told her that I wasn't going to eat the rolls. But she said that she would remove the Volcano roll but not the Sushi bomb because it was cooked. I told her that I didn't want to eat anything from there, but she insisted that I needed to pay for the other one because it was cooked. In the end, I paid for an awful service and the cooked sushi because she kept saying that she had to pay for it. Worst...
