First bad review I’m leaving in my life and I am a true proponent of never leaving a bad review unless you talk to management first and give them a chance to make it right.
Today was Mother’s Day, and we had a reservation for 630pm seating for 4 people. We arrived at on time and ourselves plus 6 other families trying to take their mothers out with reservations just standing in the tight corridor. The guy at the front was the most disrespectful man I have ever met in my life. All these families waiting until 720pm before finally leaving. Zero updates the entire time on when we’d be seated and when politely asked if there was any update at all and management would snarl and be extremely rude. I pray for the gentleman running the place today that he finds peace and learns how to treat people.
I understand seatings are tough to manage. I understand sometimes restaurants run late. What is unacceptable is how myself, and all the other families trying to take our mothers out WITH reservations were treated as we waited an hour after our reservation time with ZERO update and if you asked what was going on you got yelled at.
I’ve never been more disrespected in my life at any establishment, on Mother’s Day of all days. The most unprofessional establishment I have...
Read moreI cannot say enough nice things about La Campagnola in Kenilworth.
Not only does the restaurant have a nice, intimate setting, but it brings a real authentic Italian atmosphere via conversation, wine, and food.
Our server was amazingly kind and gracious as he recited over 10 various specials from the categories of contornj e antipasti, pasta, pesce, e carne (appetizers, pasta, fish, and meat). Flexibility with customization on dishes was also made clear to us, which is always a good thing!
We ordered the stuffed artichoke special for an appetizer which was so rich in flavor and very filling! House salads were complimentary with our meals, and I ordered pasta carbonara via pappardelle while my boyfriend ordered the rack of lamb special.
All in all, I am blown away! We will definitely be back for other date nights, special occasions, and will bring more friends and family to visit.
Thank you for a wonderful night, La Campagnola!...
Read moreThis is a wonderful hidden gem. My friends and I went here after a wedding, and we were basically the only people at the restaurant after a while. The lady and gentleman serving us were exceptional, very friendly, and so much fun. The food was simply to die for, I mean the seafood was scrumptious, the veal smelled delicious, even the house salad was tasty and refreshing. Perhaps what was best about this place, was the sheer number of specials they had. The server must have listed off at least a dozen, each one sounding better than the last. I actually didn't look through the menu fully, that's how great the specials sounded. I ordered the scallop and shrimp on risotto special, and it came in what I believe was a garlic cream sauce. Oh, how delicious that was! Such a great place to eat, well worth the price, and wonderful atmosphere. The only downside I see is that it's too far away from where I live to try and eat...
