Came here a few weeks ago for a Maine send off for my folks (who have moved to Florida now) and forgot to add a review so better late than never! They accommodated my dad and gave him a comfortable chair to sit in since he has some issues sitting on harder surfaces (we were outside). Despite a wait, we had a pretty decent experience.

My mom and I shared the steamers (both agreed these were some of best we've had), not gritty or sandy at all and cooked perfectly. My dad had the lobster stew, which he liked. My fiancé's first ever lobster roll was well enjoyed along with a cheeseburger (just in case he didn't care for the lobster). Both my mom and I got the lobster roll as well. I noticed in some reviews how a few folks complained about the lobster roll only coming with pickles and chips, it's just my humble opinion (and all my opinions are humble), I find if a place makes a good enough lobster roll, you don't need much else. Really! If the meat is perfectly cooked and it isn't dosed in mayo, if the roll holds up, if every bite has an equal ratio of lobster and bread, I'll be a happy camper. Anything else is just a cherry on top.

Relatively speaking it's still cheaper than Reds or even Robert's Maine Grill. Having worked at the latter for two summers, and easily having made over a hundred lobster rolls in my tenure, I found theirs to be perfectly full of meat, just enough mayo, and the little dash of paprika on top reminded me of the rolls I enjoyed when visiting the Downeast. The roll itself was perfectly buttered and griddled, as we know, there's nothing worse than a soggy roll!

We shared blueberry and apple pie for dessert, which is homemade, and you can really tell the difference when something is bought in/when it isn't. I will say their blueberry pie is worth trying and getting it with a scoop of vanilla is so satisfying at the end of a meal!

Overall, this was a pretty good experience. Our server was friendly enough and we got our food with no issues. I think I might try a proper lobster dinner next time.

It is cash only so make sure you're prepared (They do have an ATM just in case...

Went here for our first time, with hopes of a great evening on vacation with the decent reviews and thinking food and service would be great, with a small town setting. We were shortly proven wrong!

We showed up at 7pm on a Saturday night, they got us set at a table after waiting only a short time in line. Hostess was very pleasant and friendly and welcoming. We were excited about trying out a new place.

After being seated, a waitress walks by twice and says she'd be right over. Okay no problem. Brings us plates and silverware, as expected. We go to order...the waitress couldn't answer our question regarding their beer, to start. Kind of in a rude way in saying, "oh idk I've never heard it called that!" (Peak Organic Happy Hour) It was a new beer we had tried earlier in the day in Portland and LOVED it. On the menu it was stated "Peak Organic". We ordered anyways being hopeful it was what we wanted. We waited probably 15 minutes. She brought us our drinks and took our food order. No appetizers just 2 dinner meals.

It wasn't what we wanted. One of us re ordered a new drink, as I had to get her attention that I needed a new drink as she walks by multiple times, not asking if it was correct in what we wanted. She come back shortly with the new drink.

AN HOUR later our server brought us one of our meals (fresh lobster) and told us sorry your other meal will be a few more minutes as another waitress took it for another customer. (WHAT?!) At that very moment we knew we hadn't made a good choice to stop for dinner.

Worst service I have ever experienced! Waitress walked by multiple times not once to ask how we were doing or that food was delayed or to ask if we needed another drink. Will...

Goodbye Nunan's! We have been traveling down to Kennebunk for almost 10 summers (except of course during covid ) with a large group of friends. Nunan's was a mandatory first night gathering place without exception; unfortunately now, the group consensus is to never return. Three separate families reported terrible service and I personally experienced unacceptable service twice this year alone. Our waitress was curt, rude and unreasonable. The same waitress was terrible earlier in the summer when I went down with a different group. She clearly made a mistake in our order, came back and blamed us and then charged us for her error! During this last visit, once she realized that we were three separate families and that the bills would span the table (covering 11 people, totaling 3 bills), she asked us to all get up and move our seats to sit as designated groups; she was not able to deal with bills otherwise. She then insisted that management would not allow her to take our orders otherwise if our families did not sit together. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous! Of course our kids wanted to sit at one end of the table with their friends and not with their parents (after a 5 hour drive the feeling was mutual lol)! Imagine if we were down with our full group which can be 15-20 people! Her negative attitude was completely unacceptable. Considering we dropped close to $800.00 in less than an hour, the service should be better. 2 lobsters and a bag of chips for close to 50 bucks with rude service is not happening again for us. Nunan's was wonderful while it lasted... Time for...

Nunan’s Lobster Hut is an authentic throwback to the Mid-Century Maine restaurant scene. Whether gazing at the rustic exterior, reminiscent of an old lobsterman’s seaside shack or sitting at a picnic style table on the inside, looking out the window at the beautiful wetlands or all of the lobster and fishing paraphernalia hanging from the ceiling is a true delight to the eye. Everything about this place screams “time warp” and I mean this in a positive sense. Now about the food, which is delicious and reasonably priced, what you get is lobster with more lobster. If you are strictly carnivorous, they accommodate with a steak on the menu. They also have steamed clams, lobster rolls, and clam chowder. A twin whole lobster platter is available at a steal, and teamed with their own brand of root beer it makes a memorable experience. If you drink alcohol, there is a long list of beers and local brews along with a selection of wines. Step back in time and visit Nunan’s Lobster Hut for a wonderful authentic Maine experience. PS: Very clean restrooms! No AC! Remember, it’s 1953! You MUST leave room for the homemade Maine wild blueberry pie. You will not be disappointed! Cash only. No credit cards Revisited Nunan’s in early August, 2019 and what can I add to what I already said previously except to say still consistently excellent food, service ,friendly staff and reasonably priced ! Nunan’s should be on your not to be missed list the next time you go to Southern Maine and will definitely be on mine!

Wife and I were first time vacationing in Kennebunkport and Nunans Lobster Hut was recommended. They opened at 5 pm and we were first in line. They had outside tables with umbrellas. They also had option for inside dining. We chose inside much to our delight. Must say the outside was cute and colorful the inside was cozy beachy with a lot of stuff to look at. We started off with clam chowder. I loved it my wife thought it was too thick. Wife had 2 lobsters each pound and 3/4. I had Delmonico? Steak with potato and salad. Her lobsters were good but we're not a fan of soft shell lobsters. Which is all they had. My steak was a typical lobster place steak. Not very good but edible. I make the ultimate sacrifice but really enjoy watching my wife enjoying her lobsters Potato and salad were excellent. Our waitress was great, charming , and friendly . We'd come back for the atmosphere alone.. total was $190 including tip. We have gotten better lobster for similar prices. It's a nice out of the way place.
