Silver Star Meats Inc — Restaurant in Kennedy Township

This place looks like a house and a little hole in the wall. My daughter ordered a sandwich and let me try it when we got home and it was so good I drove back a few days later to get one for myself, my only complaint is I ordered it just like my daughter did but the lady(different then the one she ordered from) charged me extra meat and extra cheese. The sandwich had plenty when my daughter ordered, so the one I had was a bit much lol, but i can't believe how much meat they put on this, and it was still really good! The one lady my daughter ordered from was beyond nice, and you can tell she cares about her customers. The other lady not so much. If I based it on the lady that took my order, I would give her 1 star for service. The sandwich I got was Italian white toasted w/salami,turkey,ham, horseradish cheese and sharp cheddar. Went Friday evening, December 20th, 2024 to pick up a tavern ham. Arrived at 4:50, ten minutes before they closed. There were workers in the building and I was clearly seen by two of them. As I pulled up, I made eye contact with a gentleman who was cleaning and as I approached the door, I made eye contact with a worker who was behind a counter. I went to open the door and it was locked. I peered in and the workers made themselves scarce. I stood there for about 3 minutes and no one came to tell me they had closed early and just ignored me. I've been coming to Silver Star since I was a kid. We live in the East End area so it's not frequent, but we do stop by when we visit family buried in St. Mary's on the hill above them. The pepperoni cheese they have is THE BEST out there! A lot of other brands have their own, but Silver Star's is so much better. We've gotten the hams for Easter which are always good. The hot dogs are good as well. If you're over that way and like good, quality lunch meats and cheeses, I highly suggest stopping in.
