Girls night dinner. The restaurant is in a strip mall in front of Sam's on Loyola near the airport. The place is small but decorated so cute lots of natural accents like wood and plants. Calm and relaxing. There is a long wooden banquette on one side of the room with pretty cushions. You get a menu at the counter, place your order &pay they bring your food to your table. It's Honduran style Latin food but they had a Tuesday special of Mexican street style tacos, choice of chicken or pork or combo. Delicious I had the combo.I found the pork to be well seasoned flavorful without being hot. The chicken was slightly less flavorful, but still yummy. The proteins were chopped into small bite sized pieces. Tacos were dressed with fresh cilantro & diced onions. The plate came with a side of grilled onions and a half a grilled jalapeno and some lime wedges. I feel the grilled onions were wasted on me, in the future I would ask to leave those off. One of the ladies ordered pupusas with chicken and cheese. My goodness that is delicious! It's a tortilla split open and stuffed with chicken and cheese. Sorry no photo of those we ate them too fast. One of the ladies ordered a horchata drink so pretty. Horchata is drink made from sugar and rice water and cinnamon , non-alcoholic. For dessert we split a flan. Flan is a custard with a light caramel sauce. The flan was good but I have had better. If you've never had it, try it. I will definitely try this place again. The ladies who own the business are sisters it's really a...
Read moreBEST POLLO CON TAJADAS—HANDS DOWN!!! As someone proudly born and raised in San Pedro Sula, I’m always chasing that nostalgic taste of home. Let me tell you—Blue Bird delivered in every way. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a warm welcome and an ice-cold horchata that instantly set the tone.
The menu is short and sweet, but hits all the right notes—with the classic Honduran staples we all crave and a few pleasant surprises.
Now, as a lifelong fried chicken fanatic, I had high expectations for the pollo con tajadas—and this place absolutely blew me away. The flavor, the texture, the seasoning—everything transported me straight back to Honduras, sitting roadside in a plastic chair, living my best life with my favorite comfort food.
My mom had the fried snapper and she said it was like we were at Lago de Yojoa, enjoying a fresh catch. It was that good.
Huge congratulations to the owners, and a heartfelt thank you to the talented hands in the kitchen. This meal was more than food—it was a memory, a homecoming, and now, a new weekly ritual.
I’m already planning my next visit to try the baleadas for breakfast with a rich cafecito. Trust me, this place is a must—definitely recommended, like a doctor’s...
