Drove by and saw there was a relatively new Vietnamese place opened up and thought I might check it out. It's situated inside of a semi new strip mall. Service was slow despite their not being very many people in the place. But the big excitement was when they handed me the menu and I saw the price of things....
Very limited menu of just pho. No bun. No bahn mi, no rice dishes
Pho is priced anywhere from $18 to $25 there are no sizes just one size which ends up being about the size of a small elsewhere, I expected the quality of the food and the freshness of the ingredients to be way above the norm considering the pricing but I was wrong. Everything was about average if not below average. The pho is probably the worst that I've had anywhere in the city. Completely uninspiring as if it was made from a concentrate or powdered mix.
As another reviewer commented they serve tea in very flimsy plastic cups which doesn't seem to match the upscale decor and prices they're asking. Spring rolls were just average and at least those were somewhat regular priced {$6). No condiments on any of the tables. The menu I was given didn't even have all of the menu items on it. Apparently half of their menus are incomplete. This place seems to be really unorganized.
I'm sorry but the pricing for entrees just seems predatory and the quality nowhere matches it. You can get a much better meal for half the price elsewhere, almost any other Vietnamese place in the area. I'm not sure what you're exactly paying for here although I did enjoy hearing Neil Young's "southern man" play while I was eating. It seemed oddly apropos
This is a restaurant that most people will only eat at once or maybe they will just walk in take a look at the prices and if they're smart they will leave before they get taken. Hopefully my sacrifice will spare others from their wallets being unfairly preyed upon.
Seriously I can't think of another Vietnamese restaurant who's pho is worse. It takes some serious balls to charge prices for something that's so substandard.
I don't know if the other reviewers are shills, have never eaten Vietnamese before, or the restaurant has already given up just a week or two after it's opening but this is not a good sign.
Unfortunately I don't see myself giving this restaurant a second chance. There was nothing within the parameters of what I was served that made me think that they ever would have a chance to justify the prices they're charging. Fool me...
Read moreThe service sucked, and I won’t talk about the food since my family and I left before we even got to eat.
We walked in and were greeted well. We were sat down and started looking over the menu and ordered our drinks. My aunt asked if there was anything for kids and the server rudely said “whatever’s on the menu, that’s it”.
At this point the drinks had been brought out and they had brought my 5yr old brother a styrofoam cup. My Hispanic dad asked if they had lids, which then the Asian server responded with no. He thought there was a language barrier so he tried asking again, and that’s when my mom stepped in and asked her. The server then rudely said “yeah I can understand”. She then left with my brothers drink and came back with it and it had a lid so…
She left again, and my whole family could sense her attitude so we chose to ignore it. When she came back she started asking what we wanted to eat. We started to order but then for personal reasons, my uncle had to leave and he offered to pay for all of drinks before we ordered anything else.
Side note: it’s $2 for per soda can. It’s either that or lemonade/water. So do with that as you will.
My whole family started to wonder if we should go somewhere else since him and his part of the family were leaving and the server was being ruder anyways. We asked her for a moment, and she continued to ask for our orders. We asked her for another minute so that we could think, and then she rudely and this time loudly said “yall are stressing me out!”
Mind you this whole time there was only one other family in the restaurant and we had asked her for a moment. It could also be that she was trying to memorize our orders without a pen and paper, even though we asked her for a moment.
When she said that, I told her we were leaving and she ignored us and went to go greet a group of 2 that had just entered. The people behind the counter were nice though.
Went next door to Shawarma on the Run, and they were amazing.
EDIT: I will definitely try it again, because the food...
Read moreService was pretty awful. As per usual, when we went to a Pho restaurant, we expected there to be a veggie or tofu pho option. All they have if beef pho. We decided to grab some drinks since we were there to pay them something. They told us immediately we needed to leave and then ushered us out like we were causing a ruckus and being unreasonable. We were really quiet the entire time, and the only "option" they gave was "bland soup" since they could not offer tofu or veggies. Obviously, I'm not eating out for bland food. As we were walking out, a man came out and started yelling at us that they were not a coffee shop. The little dude was extremely rude and disrespectful. I'm literally just trying to pay them money for drinks since we couldn't pay for food we would and could not get. Other than the childish and extremely irrational behavior by the staff, the menu is indeed VERY limited. And call before you show up to see if they'll even have what you want because they don't have their full menu. Quite the restaurant 👌 EDIT: Apparently, it isn't rude to yell towards people on their way out of the door, ha. The response below shows the professionalism that is lacking in this establishment. "You took that wrong as well." No, I do not believe being berated as we try to quietly and quickly leave is misinterpreted as anything other than unprofessional and disrespectful. This goes beyond a "miscommunication." It is very disappointing that instead of an actual apology and taking responsibility for the disrespect we encountered in your literally empty restaurant, we get the typical "you're wrong, we're right" attitude. I don't believe this is a good industry for whomever the little man was, as well. He most definitely should not interact with customers on any level. And to the person in charge of responses, you also need to take a step back and see how absolutely absurd that...
