Shawarma on the Run — Restaurant in Kenner

Fantastic food, made with fresh ingredients, at a great value, served in a clean, spacious environment. Aside from the Lebanese music that was playing overhead, my favorite thing about this place is that the food smells so damn good. From the moment you open the door, it smacks you in the face and the saliva begins to form on your tongue. Having not known about a good place to get shawarma in Metairie, I regrettably haven't had a meal like this in over seven years. That is too long to wait, my friends. My grandmother and I decided to drive a bit further on our adventure for something new to eat for lunch. While I drove, she mentioned this place and I immediately locked in our destination, as I had not had shawarma in so long and had recently been craving falafel. The falafel did not disappoint. It was so green and herbaceous inside! By far the greenest falafel I've had. Both the chicken and the steak shawarma were superb and seasoned to perfection. The platters, served with generous portions of meat, hummus (drizzled with olive oil), seasoned yellow rice, and a zesty salad of romaine lettuce and tomato, and pita, all made for an extremely satisfying meal. It's a great variety of food in one package. I highly recommend a platter and sharing a falafel appetizer with a friend. We both had eaten to fullness and still had about half of our meals leftover to enjoy later. I'll be back soon to try some other menu items, such as the bowls...

The place is the best. Best food, best people, best environment. I was diagnosed and treated for cancer last year. Some days I was too sick to eat, and many days I was unable to taste anything. My children would bring me a chicken shawarma from here, and it would feed my soul. The hummus is outstanding! The chicken so tender and full of flavor! The salad is a vinegar dressing!! I’ve been ordering food here since they opened. Tonight I bought a chicken shawarma, and forgot to ask if the dressing was dairy based. I can no longer eat dairy products due to having formed an allergic reaction after cancer. Cow’s milk shuts my digestive system down now and I break out into hives. This man was about to completely make a new plate and all I asked was what type of dressing is on the salad! I can’t tell you how much this means to me. The Veterans Hospital Emergency Department healthcare workers wanted to give a shout out to the SHWARMA on the Run staff and especially Chef Sam for the MOST AMAZING and DELICIOUS food we had catered today! The humus and wraps prepared were the BEST IN Town! If you buy store brand humus YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MISSING until you try this place's humus. Once you try their humus you will NEVER go back to store brand again! And the Lebanese tea was FANTASTIC!
