My first time at a Baskin Robbins in ages. I mean like since my teens long. My neighbor invited me to join her as this was the 31st day of the month and BR gives a 31% discount on months that have 31 days. Who knew? I'm not really an ice cream kinda person. I might have some once a year if even that but oddly I quickly accepted her invite. The place was exceptionally clean and empty. This was around 4p. It was not at all as I remembered as a teen. They had flavors I'd never heard of nor any desire to even taste as the woman behind the counter was so generously offering. All I wanted was coffee for me, vanilla for my dogs. Traditional ice creams were hidden away in a very small section with only 4 choices I think. Chocolate, Vanilla, Coffee and Mint. The mint had a slight tinge of green w/chocolate chips. There wasn't a vanilla chocolate chip. When I was a little girl I'd get a dbl cone of vanilla chocolate chip with a chocolate. I fondly recall the two meshing together was perfect for my taste buds. I wanted to recreate that to see if I'd still like the two together as I did as a child. But I had to settle for a scoop of coffee and a scoop of the mint (separately) and a cup of vanilla for the dogs. Cones on the side for when I was ready to eat mine once home. Coffee was not coffee enough. I wanted a strong coffee flavor. Oddly the mint was much tastier. I don't see me returning anytime soon. Not because of Baskin Robbins, just me not so much into ice cream. Wanted to shout out to the woman who helped me and my neighbor. I regret I didn't get her name but she was sooo patient. My neighbor is 90 and hard of hearing so the woman had to keep repeating herself. She did it with a warm lovely smile. She has long blonde hair and it was up in a ponytail. She looked to be 20. There was an older woman working with her but she couldn't be bothered, as if cracking a smile would crack her face. Which I have no tolerance for. But this younger gal more than made up for the others fail. If you like ice cream and you're into flavors with lots of things mixed in it then I recommend BR. I hope you get lucky and get...
Read moreThis review is for Ayla at Baskin Robbins in Kennewick: she is probably the sweetest and most helpful person I have come across in the food service industry. I ordered a cake from Baskin Robbins, as per usual for family birthday parties. Unfortunately I waited until the day before I needed it to order it, and was worried it wouldn't be ready in time for me to pick it up and get home to finish party preparations. I called Baskin Robbins to see if I could get it an hour or two before the stated 24 hr notice, and was informed by Josh that although there were no other cakes on order, he couldn't help me...at all. I asked if perhaps he could leave a note explaining my request, and maybe, just maybe the cake could be picked up a little sooner than 6:00pm. Josh did not leave a note. From his tone of voice, I wasn't really expecting he would. Happily, the story doesn't end there. I called the next day, and this time I got Alya. She agreed to see what she could do and said she would call when the cake could be picked up. This is exactly what she did. When I came to pick the cake up, she asked me to check and make sure it met expectations. She had done a lovely job on the cake, but somehow the correct version had been miscommunicated to her, and we were missing the distinctive chocolate wedges that anyone familiar Baskin Robbins oreo chocolate ice cream cakes would be familiar with and agree, they are a mouth watering must! Ayla was more than happy to "fix" this, making the chocolate wedges right then, all the while making cheerful conversation and telling me about the new Baskin Robbins location in Kennewick. She was a delight and I hope her managers know what a value they have in her. She will keep the customers coming!...
