I rarely leave reviews regardless of what kind of service I receive. But I just had a terrible experience with its owner Jaime. I understand that it has such great reviews from customers but this place has a new owner. I spoke to their employee Jenny to reserve the large party room on the side and came up with a meeting date. As agreed I went to the restaurant to leave my deposit only to have an employee call me hours later stating that this place was not available for me and to pick up my money. I let him know that that could not be possible because I had already paid for food and invitations for that date. I let Jaime know that he would have to compensate me. He replied he did not have to but would take it from his employees salary. Even after Jaime confirmed with Jenny that we did in fact speak about that reservation he would not work with me. He decided to point the finger at his employees and took no responsibility in the matter. Leaving me with no place for my event and money and time loss. I understood from our conversation that this has happened before. I feel terrible that this new person is taking such a great...
Read moreVisiting from Georgia, came in with my girlfriends and ordered the “Ay Chihuahua”, a $20 plate that is misquoted on their online menu which said was $14.99. The steak was inedible, very chewy and was a consensus between the three (3) people in the group of the six (6) that ordered it.
The server was very reluctant to fix the issue, the solution was to bring us a thin piece of steak and charge the original price of the “Ay Chihuahua”. Maybe that’s why they call it “Ay Chihuahua” since that’s what they gonna charge you no matter the price and quality.
The replacement steak was okay, but not what we ordered and definitely not worth $20. We were there to have a good time, therefore did not want to push it further and cause any issues to ruin the outing.
What a disappointment, do not come here and support this business. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants to go to. Try El Mirador in Pasco, WA great food...
Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant for over 20 years and while the food isn't amazing, the prices used to be reasonable and service better. Today, I went in to order lunch to go at 1:35 pm, and was promptly ignored after telling a waitress why I was standing at the booth in their lobby. She returned to the server area to gossip, and I was ignored for several minutes until I decided I'd go buy better quality Mexican food faster and never return to this restaurant again. When I called to ask to speak to a manager, I was told there was none on staff, but I could call back to speak to one at 4-5 pm tonight. I said, "No thank you, I'll just leave this review instead." And here we are. Congratulations El Chapala. When there is much better quality Mexican food a couple miles from you in multiple directions, maybe don't treat your...
