We tried to visit on a warm 90° weekend and it was too crowded to find parking. We ended up going on the Friday afternoon before Labor Day, when the weather was in the 80's.. There weren't many people there and everyone was spread out. There is a walkway that takes you closer to the water. This was nice because the sand is very soft and hard to walk in. The beach was clean, minus some cigarette butts and paper blowing around. The bathrooms were closed at the time of our visit. All of the trash cans in the area had been recently emptied. The water was beautiful but cold! There was a nice breeze coming in off the lake. On a cloudy day it might have been chilly but the sun made it very comfortable. There were several boats & jet skies in the water. A few people were swimming but not staying in the water for long periods of time. This is a beautiful beach to visit for relaxing, sunbathing and playing in the sand!

My family and I have lived this beach forever. Born and raised in kenosha, I could never imagine leaving the lake front area. What peace the view brings after a long hard day, or what a scene to just go for a nice calm walk. My kids ask to go to the beach even in the winter lol. Although I will say there's definitely room for improvement of food & live entertainment like the beach in Racine, I'm still grateful for all the improvements made recently. I look forward to the many years of memories my family will have here.

Recently discovered this hidden gem. Great beach with a playground for kids. Some small garbage washed up ashore, but still much cleaner than Chicago beaches. The parking is spread out and just enough not to make the beach crowded even on the busiest days. There are trees at the end, if you prefer to sit in the shade. If you can't find parking there, there's Pennoyer Park a mile north with a bigger parking and bigger beach, but no playground. I wish I knew earlier about both.

We are frequently visiting this beach. For the most part, the water has a nice clear quality. There are playgrounds for kids to play. Shallow enough for all to swim. Public restrooms are available, and there are also portable bathrooms as well when they are closed for cleanings or late in the evenings when they lock up the bathrooms. My favorite part, however, is the feet wash and shower outdoors for getting clean before going back into the car. It does it crowded fast, but who can blame anyone for wanting to go...
