Delicious authentic Vietnamese food with generous portion and good price. This one is in my pocket list.
We visited this restaurant after shopping at Renton IKEA. It was Friday a little after lunch hour lots of empty table available. This was our first time visiting here and I was glad to see Bun Mam on their menu. Not many Vietnamese restaurants offer this dish. We ordered traditional pho, bun mam and rice noodle platter for three of us.
The dishes comes in pretty fast with condiments. Their chili sauce is different, pleasantly sweet sour with a nice kick on your tongue. Not too strong or overpowering. Great for both dipping and in the soup. I asked owner it's their homemade chili sauce. It's a must try.
The portion is generous and ingredients are fresh. The shrimp, fish, calamari, roasted pork and eggplant in my bun mam are delicious, the rice noodle is the right type and cooked just right. The broth is light but still flavorful, perfect to add the chili sauce in. I haven't had this decent bun mam for quite a while. I am glad this restaurant in Renton still has it. I also tried the rice noodle platter, which is same delicious and great texture.
The service was attentive. They checked with us a few times for water refill and make sure food is right.
We've already told friends about this restaurant in Renton and we will definitely visit it again next time in...
Read moreWhen we walked in, there was a smell of cigarette as if i walked into a smoking portion of the casino but it eventually went away. (we don't smoke so it wasnt us. lol) Food was surprisingly good despite having an OKAY food rating. Sorry if the only picture i got was the spring rolls but those are really good. they were made fresh unlike a restaurant that we've been to before and you can tell it was pre-made. But anyways, we also got Banh Xeo which i thought tasted a little burnt and a little too oily but flavor-wise it was good. Then we had to try their Beef Stew with Egg noodle. It was delicious but since they garnished it with Cilantro, it was overpowering the beef stew flavor. Service was ok. There's a bit of a language barrier since we actually said no mint or basil on our spring roll but it still got added on there which is not too big of a deal. Atmosphere was clean although it looks like they only had the server and 1 cook in the back working so there were few dirty tables from previous customers when we got in. Bathroom was clean and well lit. Prices were reasonable as well. All in...
Read moreWe sat at a table with 4 seats, 3 of the 4 chairs had massive holes right in the center of the chair. It was super uncomfortable.
Food was decent, a bit pricey for what it was worth, actually. We both ordered (different) vermicelli noodle bowls with egg rolls. The egg rolls were not that great, had a strange sourness to it. Go to Spring Roll House in International District for egg rolls!
We also ordered the chicken wings from the appetizer menu (picture posted). Those were really good. It was like Korean Fried Chicken, Vietnamese style. It had a sweet fish sauce glaze slathered over it. Crispy, sticky, sweet, and savory. Only complaint is the price. The wings were pretty small and it was $13/6 wings. I was expecting 6 FULL wings for that.
Overall, my experience was okay. It was nice that there was zero wait, but it was a pretty...
