7/25/2020 update:
PLEASE USE MENUFY TO ORDER TAKE OUT!
Himalayan Cafe has been one of my go to restaurants for years. Their food is consistently delicious and I’ve never been disappointed ordering from here, never had an “off day” in years. I’ve given them repeat business over and over.
Like all restaurants, times are challenging with COVID. Imagine my horror upon finding out that DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub etc extort 30-40% of the bill for each of their orders!
Himalayan Cafe have provided quality food and service for years, it would be very saddening for them to have to close because of the pandemic. If you’re going to order here, please use Menufy to help them keep the money they deserve and need more than ever. I want to give my money to a quality local business, not into the grubby, greedy hands of delivery services who sneakily don’t tell you how much they rip off vulnerable businesses.

2019 review: I am a huge fan of Himalayan Cafe. Firstly, thank you for being open for the Snowmageddon of Seattle 2019 so I could actually eat when I ran out of food. The food here is always delicious. I usually order the Paneer Tikka Masala and it is creamy, flavourful, and always hits the spot. Their Palak Paneer is good, and their naan goes well with it. I've never had anything bad from Himalayan Cafe. I order from here a lot with DoorDash. The portions are generous too; one tub of Paneer Tikka Masala can last me 3 meals. I don't typically order American food from ethnic restaurants as I like to experience different cultures, but today I tried their Angry Chicken Wings appetizer for the first time because everything I've had so far has been great. As expected, they didn't disappoint. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone. Spicy, but not to the extent that it was painful, with slight sweet tangs to it. Flavourful and great food, like all of their stuff is that I've had. This is my favourite Indian...
Read moreWould have been more stars had they done better w/my order to go. Very friendly service. Like other critiques, I am guessing this restaurant does their best if you dine in ? My dish was vegetable biryani. The garlic, basil, naan was excellent. !!! The basmati rice was good, however, seemed like they threw spices & veggies together rather quickly to get another one out the door. I arrived at 9:22. Their sign says they close at 10. I was told their "seating closes at 9:30 and would I like to order something to go" I really wanted this kind of food. I specifically left the house to come here so I ordered and waited approx twelve mins b4 the food arrived. I put most of the food in the fridge last night and just ate some for brunch. Spices/seasonings settled in quite nicely. Dish tastes better today. Look, I'm just over 50 years old. I don't know when this changed, but, many exotic fair restaurants are advertising their end times falsely. Most regular fair restaurants will serve you up to 15 mins b4 they close. Or apologize and possibly recommend another eatery not far from their locale. I am black, so no racism towards these kinds of eateries. ") Just giving a hint that there is something to be said for a place that serves food stay open according to their advertised signage. This has happened many times over the years. All this to be said, yes, I would eat here again, just inside the restaurant next time and long hefore they close. ") Mainly because their food is what I like a few times a month and of course they are the closest to our home. Btw "Pabla India cuisine" used to have better Vegetable Biryani. One of my go to places over the last...

This was my first time visiting FOI, but definitely not my first experience with Indian cuisine — and wow, was I impressed! We were a party of nine, ranging from age 6 to 50+, and called ahead to reserve seating. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made us all feel welcome.
The restaurant itself is clean, stylish, and tastefully decorated — simple, modern, with a touch of elegance. Everyone in our group found something to love, even the pickiest eaters!
Now, the food… absolutely Uh-may-zing. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka were what dreams are made of — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also ordered chowmein for the kids, and let me tell you: best. chowmein. ever.
Appetizers were a hit too — we tried both steamed and fried Chicken Momos, Chicken Pakora, and Gobi Manchurian. Each one was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
For entrees, we ordered a variety: Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Lamb Tikka, and Chicken RoganJosh. I loved that each dish could be customized by spice level (from 0 to 5). We had everything from zero to two — the twos brought the heat for some of us, while others, like me, are already planning to level up on our next visit!
The owners are kind, attentive, and have a great sense of humor. I enjoyed our brief conversation and appreciated how genuinely welcoming they were.
My only regret? Not taking any photos of the food! Not just for the review, but to show off how much we enjoyed — and accomplished, ha! I can't wait to visit again the next time we’re...
