Huế Bánh Mì & Phở Cafe — Restaurant in Franklin Township

Huế Bánh Mì & Phở Cafe is the epitome of small but mighty. I have NEVER had such delicious Vietnamese food since the days where I would go to my best friend's house and his mom would always cook breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner for our high school sleep overs!

A friend highly recommended I come here to try their Banh Mi sandwiches, but when I got there and saw the menu, I knew I had to order so much more! I ended up grabbing lunch for my family and myself and even got more to have for dinner later!

My order and my thoughts!:

1. Bún thịt nướng with spicy fish sauce: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!? This is hands-down the BEST place to order this dish in all of Cleveland and Akron. I haven't had a version of this dish that tasted so much like it was made with care and love -like a homemade meal made by mom. The ingredients were packed in the bowl so I know they want me to EAT! They were also carefully packaged to make sure certain ingredients didn't mix before I was ready to eat, so I know they are conscious of customer experience! I'm SO glad I got the spicy fish sauce because the flavor was out of this world, I could probably eat this at least twice every day if I could. Everything was cooked just right: the noodles, the pork, and everything blended so well!

2. Summer Roll (Gỏi Cuốn): I have NEVER seen a summer roll packed to the seams with the ratio of ingredients so perfectly balanced. Not only was each bite a mouthful, it tasted DELICIOUS. You get a choice between peanut or peanut-free sauce, which is so considerate of them. I had to get the peanut sauce and oh my gosh, it was better than I expected. Which explains why they put it in a larger container. It's like they know someone is gonna ask for extra! Also, I believe I tasted a light brush of sesame oil on the rice paper which not only added a beautiful gleam to its appearance, but also the right flavor boost! Not that it needed it. It was perfection 👌🏽

3)Special (Phở Đặc Biệt): I ordered this for my parents because they are soup folks! When I brought it home to them and we unpacked it, I was so amazed by the level of care they put into packaging the ingredients separately so as to not dilute or mix any flavors before it needed to be. They also weren't shy with the ingredients! It was a FULL bowl, something my parents definitely appreciated -so you have the Bondad parental approval ✨️ After we assembled it all, I couldn't help but sneak a bite/slurp, and omg I know what I'll be ordering next time! EVERYTHING tasted so fresh despite me driving 45 minutes from the restaurant to my parents' house -so that speaks volumes of the quality of their ingredients. The taste was yet another hug and welcome into their home. You can tell how much someone cares by the food that they make for you, and this place CARES.

4. Lemongrass Beef (Bánh Mì Bò Nướng Sả): First of all, I did not know there would be so many kinds to order from because every restaurant I have seen only has 1-2 types! So of course i had to try one I have never seen before! ABSOLUTLEY NO REGRETS. The pâté itself added so much flavor and balance to the sandwich overall. Each individual element of the sandwich was something I could actually taste and name off. And it was a HUGE sandwich! If you made it this far into the review, I hope you're realizing how much I've come to love this place. And if nothing has convinced you yet, let the Banh Mi do its job 😉

5. Thai Tea bubble tea: I love boba, so it's no surprise I had to try this. The condensed milk that i could already taste from the first sip wasevidence enough that they know what they are doing! The boba pearls were cooked perfectly and had the right consistency and chew! And the flavor?!? Exactly how homemade thai tea tastes. Perfectly sized to satisfy my sweet tooth too!

I'm sad I live kinda far from it, but it's not far from my gym, so if there's something life is teaching me with this, it's that when you lose some (calories) you will also need to gain some (calories and happiness) 😀. Come here and taste REAL...

This has quickly become my favorite spot in Kent. Since I discovered this gem a couple weeks ago, I've already been back several times, and I when my family came to visit, I knew this was the place they had to try. Everyone loved it! I've always gotten a bánh mì because they are just too delicious, but I love the variety of choices of meat you can choose to have on your bánh mì. The bread is also fresh, crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. The meats are very flavorful. The veggies add a nice crunch, and I love that they are pickled while still tasting very fresh. The size of the sandwich for the price is also just an incredible deal, I'd say nearly 2x bigger and 20x better than any other bánh mì in town. I've also gotten their summer rolls which tasted fresh and delicious with a really tasty peanut sauce and their Bánh Bao steamed buns which were also really great. They also have convenient online ordering and prepare orders quickly. They don't have seating, but that's not really an issue for me. I don't mind taking my food to go, especial when it's this good. Service is always really friendly too! I only wish that they were open just a little later as it always seems to be about 5 or 10 minutes after 8 when I think about wanting to eat dinner, and they're already closed. But I understand that as a family business, hours may need to be limited. I hope they find success here in Kent and are around for a long while. If you haven't tried Huế Cafe yet,...

It exceeded my expectations, it was the best sandwich they call them Banh Mi I ever had. I get the grilled pork sausage Banh Mi but will eventually work thru their menu because anyone who puts such love and care into a sandwich you know everything they make is going to be fantastic. It is family owed and in my book family owed are the best for quality. They make the food fresh the baguettes are made by them and you won't find better, crisp outside light and fluffy inside delicious. Buy a Banh Mi and buy a extra baguette loaf to take home. It's fresh made food not what we are use to around here. I have eaten there now 4 times since they opened and each time I'm glad I spent my money there. The parents make the food as if your at their home they want to feed you great food. Andrew the son is at the front and is a pleasure. I'm a loyal customer now and thrilled they picked our part of Kent to call home. If I could give them all the stars for every place in Kent I would.
