I'm vegetarian and this restaurant seemed to have a couple of good veggie options. I called and submitted a carryout order - tofu triangles, a vegetarian curry, and some sauteed vegetables. Two dishes were supposed to come with rice. I dispatched my husband, as he was going to another location to pick up another order. We'd never ordered from this place, but the meals were not what I expected. Nothing came with rice. The two "vegetarian" dishes were exactly the same. I'm not even sure they were vegetarian. They had tofu, but also other sauteed things that looked like eggs that were not identifiable. From Yelp photos, I think this is the restaurant's pad see you dish. I took a few bites and didn't feel confident enough that the dish was vegetarian. The tofu triangles were not anything like the description - no peanuts and not triangular. They could have been meat. I didnt eat it. Then there was a fourth dish with shrimp. I never ordered that. Now, my husband should have counted the number of dishes since I only ordered three, but what I was received was not right. My husband gave the people at the counter the names of the dishes I ordered. There was no one in the restaurant when my husband picked up the food. This place needs to invest in an online ordering system to get orders right. Never again....
Read moreWhile visiting the granddaughter @ KSU, we decided to give this small Thai spot a try. We started with Edamame and Steamed (Chicken) Pot Stickers, which were hot, fresh, and very good. I ordered the Sizzling Pla Platter (no idea what the Pla stands for) and selected the "whole fish" option, which was indeed, a whole fish so be prepared. It was fresh tasting, quickly deep-fried Talapia that was served with the house brown sauce with chicken and vegetables. The fish had a crunchy outer skin and moist flavorful meat, which is a trick with normally tasteless talapia. Presentation was very appetizing (as long as you don't mind the fish staring back at you). Recommend the dish highly. My wife had Country style Pad Thai, which is a spicier version of regular Pad Thai. She said it was "really not that spicy". My granddaughter had regular Pad Thai and loved it. However, both versions contained shrimp and chicken and both ladies complained that there were only two shrimp, which seemed a bit of a ripoff. Nice, clean place with a good selection of Thai favorites at reasonable (though not cheap) prices. Not a lot of seating, but adequate I think. Highly...
Read moreI had heard about Wild Papaya in Kent far before actually visiting thanks to an app that I use called Foursquare. The restaurant is located on main street and near the student apartments which makes it convenient to get to, at least for me. I came to Wild Papaya on a Thursday night and was pleasantly surprised. The building was quaint, neatly decorated, had a small crowd, and was very ethnic. Our service was great too, and we were seated promptly, our orders were taken immediately and our food arrived in a good amount of time. I ordered the mango fried rice with tofu and it came garnished with an orange slice and edible carrot cutout flower. It was delicious! I thought that it was adorable that this restaurant thought to be that creative by garnishing their dishes with edible arrangements. The quality of the food is fantastic, and the portion sizes are generous, I had enough to take home that night. All in all, a really nice experience and their bubble tea's are phenomenal as well! I tried my first ever in honeydew here at Wild Papaya and it was worth every penny. A really nice, highly...
