The Lucky Duck Pub is a small establishment that serves pub food (burgers, wings, sandwiches) and does this in a fun family friendly atmosphere. The pub went No-Smoking years ago and has since become a small local gem in the Burlington area. Tuesdays is Trivia night where the owner sits at the front and asks questions and encourages everyone to play along to win prizes and “Duck Swag”. The food is good and the service is very good. Overall, it is a great “little” place to grab a burger or wings if you’re in the Burlington area. I visited the Lucky Duck Pub on a Tuesday night to try out the wings. The wings at the Lucky Duck Pub come in a variety of sauces/rubs from mild to “Quackin” (hot). I tried both the barbecue and the medium sauces along with the onion straws celery and ranch. The wings were a mixed bag. While they were nice and hot (as in fresh out of the cooker); the mediums had almost no sauce and resulted in almost no flavor, possibly a bad batch, because the barbecue wings were exquisite. Plenty of sauce, sweet and tangy; everything you expect in a good wing. The onion straws were very good, basically cut up onion rings to fit into the neat serving dish. Celery and ranch—well, you can’t really mess this up unless you give me carrots and blue cheese.
Overall ratings: Wings: Since I tried both the Medium and the Barbecue, I have to give these 2 ratings: Medium—2*--tentative rating; like I stated above, I am willing to give them a second try based on the quality of the barbecue. Barbecue—4*--No Questions, these were great. Just the right amount of sweet and tangy sauce to make my hands and face sticky, but not so much as to “drown” the wings in the basket. Onion Straws: 4*--Hell, I love Real Onion rings that are cooked properly. These are real onion rings that are cut up and cooked; exceedingly well and served in what looks like a wire basket milkshake lined with paper. What’s not to like. Overall Rating: 4*-- Nice place, great food, fun atmosphere, I will try out the medium wings again...
Read moreBetter than average pub food but nothing to brag about. I got the Cod sandwich under advisory from my server, it was gigantic as she had stated... but unfortunately tasteless. My mother got the cordon blue, she said it was a good chicken sandwich... but nothing like a cordon blue. Son got a Southwest burger of sorts and said it was perfectly spicy, tasted alright... but like the patty wasn't really seasoned at all like a proper burger. The service was pretty darn good, got everything we ordered as ordered plus a couple extra details without having to ask twice. We got refills on time, and the check promptly a prone request and cashed out in good time. Pricing was fair/good all things considered. Noisy as expected for a pub and a lot of people drinking but yeah it's a pub. I gotta go with 3 stars just because of how tasteless my sandwich was. I would rather have a small tasty fish sandwich than a gigantic double filet that just tastes like air. I don't know where all the 5 star reviews come from other than I guess drunkards? It's a basic pub with basic pub food, not a 5 star restaurant. People just seem to willy-nilly throw 5 stars onto...
Read moreMy wifeand I visited this place for the first time on Friday. We were greeted immediately, ad seated at a table. The server, Kaya came over and introduced herself and welcomed us. We told her this was our first time here since we are in town for my job. She immediately sat down and explained the Happy Hour specials and also told us about the weekly entertainment events. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. When the food came out, we were impressed with the pretzel and the jalapeño chips . Everyone was friendly and there was music and videos playing. It was a nice vibe and we will definitely visit...
