I give Zozo’s a solid 4+ and reserve the right to upgrade that after we make a second trip to order a couple of their more complex dishes. For our first visit, we ordered pork dumplings, panko shrimp, chicken katsu, a crunchy shrimp roll topped with crispy salmon skin, and an order of chicken fried rice (to go). All were good and worthy of a return trip. The shrimp tempura was simple dimple but we preferred to dip them in the sauce that came with the dumplings because it was more complex than the sauce provided with the shrimp. The pan fried pork dumplings had a very light winton-like shell to then which was unusual but pleasant just the same - it should only be there as a vehicle for what’s inside - and the pork stuffing was very good. The chicken katsu was classic along with the sauce and sesame seeds topping it. Rice was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were good although I would have liked to see less green bell pepper - just a personal preference. The crunchy shrimp roll was interesting and good, and the chicken fried rice was very good! We’ll try other rolls the next time and some of their more complex dishes. Definitely worth a trip or...

I wrote a review for this place a few years ago, a stellar one. We've been here as a family many times, both on our wedding night and during a Christmas dinner.

Last night after we left, I learned the owner humiliated my wife about her tip. I was under the impression that she didn't tip enough, so I went back in myself to pay the traditional amount and left.

Later I discovered the family did intend to leave a cash tip beyond the posted amount, (the amount she declared on credit was her cut) but due to the aggressive behavior (profanity and in front of other customers by the owner) my family was offended and retracted any further business with them. The owner was too quick to jump on my wife.

Quite frankly "I have to support my employees " tangent doesn't work when you pay your employees below a liveable wage and fork the responsibility and stress to your customers; I let that excuse slide.

My family and friends will not...

Someone told me that the Seafood Ramen was great at Zozo's Tavern. What I find was this place was very racist. When I arrived there was no greeting. I was asked "What do you Want". I ask for a booth and was given a hard time. But I sat in the both anyway. There was not a lot of people in the restaurant. Then the young White waitress past by me 35 times before I received a menu. Once I ordered and received my meal that was the last time the waitress came to my table. She never came over to see if everything was ok or if I wanted anything else. I had to ask the Asian lady that was working there for my bill. I guess Zozo's Tavern is not use to seeing people of color.. That was my first and last visit. People of color. Please stay away from...

This is the first time I've gone into this place, but I've ordered takeout several times. It's in an 1840 building, so this is one of the most unique sushi places you'll ever eat at. I came in on a Saturday night with a party of five and was told by the host it was going to be a 25-30 minute wait, which we were prepared for. Then he came back in a few minutes and said "just give me five minutes" and we were very quickly seated. Our server was very knowledgeable and patient with my kids and the food was stellar. Between us, we got tempura, sushi rolls, tofu, ramen, fried rice and lo mein, all of which was amazing. The 859 roll might be the best sushi roll I've ever had anywhere. We will definitely come back.

I cannot express enough how phenomenal Zozo’s Tavern is! Alan and Katie are first and foremost some of the greatest people I’ve ever met! The food here is amazing, from their sushi, jefe chicken, beef tacos , or crab Rangoon… actually these are just a few of our favorites; the options are endless and we’ve never been disappointed and neither will you !!!! And let me tell you about a few of their specialty and rare cocktails that you will not find elsewhere; peach Bellini, the speacialty martini ( to die for ) amongst all of the other selections from the Maki Mono Carlo , Boba Sake-Tini or summer sake-tini!
