My husband, a granddaughter, and I went to El Arriero on Saturday about 6pm for dinner. We all ordered quesadillas. When they came, my husband took a few bites and said, "I think that there is fish in my meal". He has a severe fish allergy. He opened up his quesadilla and looked through it and actually found a few small pieces of fish. We talked to the waiter who told us that they cook all the food on the same grill and perhaps there had been leftover fish on the grill when our food was cooked. By then, my husband was having trouble breathing and his lips and tongue were going numb. We left immediately and drove to the nearest hospital. By the time that we got there he was struggling to breathe. At the ER they took him right back and started administering meds through an IV. His blood pressure went up to over 185. It was a very scary experience. You shouldn't have to worry about having fish in your food when you don't order fish. Now, our evening out is going to include an ER bill, and my husband has been sick for two days now. This is the first time that he's ever had problems like that in...
Read moreHadn't ever been here before. Took a bit of time to get my food, but it was good. Nothing to shake a stick at, but everything was well flavored. The presentation wasn't all that great, but that made them feel authentic. Not like you are eating in a fancy restaurant, but you were getting your tacos from a street vendor in Mexico.
Things that you guys did well -flavor of rice and beans rice especially has a fluffy texture and excellent flavor Salsa and chips were good -the tacos themselves were good as well -the shells are an authentic texture and well flavored
Things that could use improvement -the cilantro and pico were very roughly chopped (filled with stem pieces and large leaf bits) didn't give a consistent bite of flavor or good texture -the steak in the tacos themselves was dry. It has a good flavor, but even by adding the pico and lime juice it still wasn't quite there.
All that being said, I'd still consider coming back to try something different on the menu. The flavors of the food are authentic and not every Mexican restaurant has that touch. Nice job guys. Keep up...
Read moreYou know what people say, if you don’t like it the first time just give it another opportunity. It took 5+ minutes to get our drink orders in. I got a combo and the first time I got my plate the food was not warm at all. You can tell whatever they do in the kitchen isn’t a good process, microwaved food forsure. (Coming from someone who used to manage a restaurant.) I tell my server and maybe 2-3 minutes later I receive a new plate of “fresh” food and it’s still prepared the same way. Cold beans and rice, not tasty burrito and very soggy taco. After sitting for 1 minute. After I get through half of my burrito I see there is something moving around turns out to be a bug that isn’t flying away. Which tells me their kitchen is disgusting, very lazy establishment, who does the bare minimum. The person at the cashier, took off my meal. But considering the experience you would think more would’ve been done. Not authentic Mexican food no matter how many Mexicans reside in their establishment. It’s below sub par. Think about what you want to put into you body before...
