I live in Houston, TX and during my visit to Grand Rapids, I had the pleasure of dining at Nagoya, an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant that completely blew me away. From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me like a VIP, and the experience only got better from there.
First and foremost, the sushi was simply outstanding. The freshness of the fish was unparalleled, with each bite melting in my mouth. From classic rolls to sashimi, everything was perfectly crafted and bursting with flavor. The variety on the menu was impressive, and I appreciated how they kept the quality top-notch despite the all-you-can-eat concept.
What truly stood out to me was how they handled my sesame allergy. The staff was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure my meal was safe and enjoyable. They carefully noted my allergy and prepared my food with the utmost care, giving me peace of mind. Their diligence made me feel valued and cared for, which is rare to find.
Service at Nagoya was another highlight. The staff was fast, efficient, and served everything with a warm smile. Plates were cleared promptly, drinks refilled without me having to ask, and the overall flow of service was seamless. Despite the restaurant being busy, the team made me feel like I was their top priority.
I can confidently say that I would return to this area just to dine at Nagoya again. It’s a rare gem that combines incredible food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in the area—or even if you’re not—it’s absolutely...
Read moreABSOLUTE BANGER! Our family of 3 adults and 3yo and 1.5yo went there for lunch for the first time last Saturday as we were hungry from YMCA swim day. We were greeted with great hospitality, and needless to say we were blown away by the FRESH, MADE-TO-ORDER and TASTY sushi. Granted, there is nothing out of this world with the ingredients, but they way they were prepped and presented, the whole thing screams "top notch quality" to you. Also they offer sushi with either mango or fried banana on them like, you would think these and sushi would never mix but OH THEY DO SO WELL. $18 per person and $9 per kid above 3yo is not exactly cheap, but when you end up with a feast of sushi that you can devour to your hearts content, this price is worth every penny. Our first visit I didn't have any chance to take photos because we just gobble them up, and we ordered 9 special rolls with ZERO LEFTOVERS. Seriously if you waste any food here other than allergies shame on you. We went here today and cleared 6 rolls. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE SUSHI. Oh dinner is $28 per person and Sundays are dinner all day just so you know. I highly recommend the...
Read moreThe food is overall pretty decent sushi but the sashimi helpings are a little smaller than other places. Service is pretty good when I have eaten in or with timing when ordering takeout. The place is a little small so can get tight quick if you need a table. The only really concerning thing that happened was recently I ordered takeout and when I got home, the California rolls had no avocado - they substituted shredded cucumber with no warning. They also did not include any wasabi or sliced pickled ginger with the order, so naturally it was frustrating to pay for something that you didn't end up getting. It's not like sushi is cheap to pay for so you expect when you spend that kind of money you will get what you order. To be fair, that was my only incident so far but when that happens it really does blow!! I did call and they said call the next day but really that is a hassle. If a regular customer says there is an issue, as a restaurant manager, you simply state you will replace for free - end of story. Hence the 3 star rating. Prob a 4 star if not for that recent approach of not making things right...
