UPDATE REVIEW 5/19/2025 Tried this location again for lunch the other day. This time I had the monster burger combo with seasoned fries. I’m a simple guy and only like mustard, onion, and pickle on my burger. The burger patty was smashed flat and crispy on both sides even warm enough to melt the cheese. The fries were good and had a seasoned salt seasoning on them. The fries were very fresh as I could tell they were just made. Every time I come here I’m amazed by the service of the staff as they really care about making your experience great. Would highly recommend this place, this location especially. This was my first visit to Dario’s and I was very impressed. The restaurant was nice and big with plenty of seating. The interior was clean, very modern and inviting. The menu is simple to read and offers a variety of choices from obvious all beef hotdogs to burgers, chicken tenders or sandwiches and of course shakes. I tried two hot dogs “ all the way” which is two all beef hotdogs on toasted buns with mustard, onions, chili and slaw on top. They were both fresh and juicy, unlike the connivence store dogs all dried out. The inside was packed full of people and both drive thru lines were wrapped around the building but moving steadily. Which I came to find out is an obvious indication this place is amazing. I am already busy planning my next visit trying to figure out what I will try next. It will undoubtedly be busy when you go but trust me it is worth the wait!

Sunday would not be complete, if we didn’t wake up craving hotdogs. A lot of places are closed on Sunday so that makes the craving worse. The old supply and demand snafu. We used to go to the Dairi-O in Walkertown with my son’s little league baseball team but that was 10 years ago. That location is now closed but the new location on 66 is closer to us anyway. The #1 combo is 2 hotdogs, any way you want them, medium drink and a big order of seasoned crinkle fries for $7.99. We got two of the combos all the way. Let’s start with the fries. I like my crinkles to be very crispy, salty, a light golden color and the potato should be very light. The holy grail crinkle is a salty, crispy shell with hardly any potato. The order was a mix of that. I always eat the HGCs first. The all beef hotdog is good, the chili is slightly spicy, the slaw is slightly sweet and the onions aren’t overpowering. That makes a great combination. If the toppings push it to the top, the buttery toasted bun pushes it up and over. Seriously great and at a reasonable price.

MEET HANNAI I met him today at the Kernersville, NC Dairy-O. He had been assigned to refill the condiment counter. BUT, he went way above and beyond the normal! I was amazed as he lined up perfect rows of each supply, and turned each packet face forward! When I commended him for his diligence, he said it was the way it needed to be done to represent the company well. I told his manager what I observed him do. She said, “You are the third person to praise him to me tonight.” Hannai had added the extraordinary neatness on his own - it was not part of his assignment. Hannai is from Brooklyn; he is studying music in Greensboro. He is also a Christian, which explains a lot about his character. Before I left the store, I handed him $40 as a tip - it was all the cash I had on me at the time. If it had been $200 in my wallet, he would have gotten it all. What an amazing young man!

I don't like cold, or a lot of noise, plus I'm still a bit leary of hanging out in a jam-packed restaurant, given the lingering Co-vid 19 threat, so, when the weather's warm, I look for an outside dining area. This place has such, a porch with plenty of tables, some 4-tops, maybe some 6-tops, but I don't trust my memory on the distribution.

Tables and chairs are steel mesh, which is kind of a downer, but openness and fresh air make up for that. The place is situated on a "restaurant row", with a good-sized open space before the next eatery.

If you like to watch people -and I do- it's a great place for that. There's an improved access road in back with a lot of unappointed curb space, where truckers and drivers of other large rigs park. Al fresco diners can watch all the activity while quietly munching away, or chatting with friends.

THIS PLACE IS VASTLY POPULAR! I commented to my counter server, who is one among many, on the size and density of the crowd inside. She laughed and said that this wasn't really busy, that often the standing line will extend out the door and wind around the building.

The drive-thru functions like Chick Fila's with staff taking orders outside before the customer reaches the building. Seemed to me it was working well, efficiently.

I ordered the Spicy Southwest Chicken salad (and some fries, because I'm regrettably hooked on 'em). The salad was LARGE, with a lot of different vegetables, plus abundant chicken. The fries were as good as Mickey Dee's when they're fresh and crisp. I honestly couldn't eat all the fries, because the salad was so big and satisfying.

Only reasons for 3 stars on ambience was the noise level and closeness of seating inside. Given their business model -- which obviously works-- that's understandable. What it delivers is truly fast food, even when crowded, which is not only tasty, but a lot of it is...

What happened to this place. My wife ordered online and when she got there the place was a disaster. When my wife finally got our order that we had placed and she had placed 20 minutes prior and showed up at the time that they said it would be ready. It definitely was not. Then our complete order was wrong. They left out one of the entrees, One order of fries, and all of the drinks. How do you miss all of the drinks? She brought it to the attention of the staff and they quickly fixed it. By the time she was able to get this 10 minutes down the road, everything was ice cold. Hot dogs had slaw on them. That would be disgusting to microwave. French fries will get soggy the whole thing. And when we called in to get our money back because this is garbage now, they told us that we had to bring the food back to them. Like what are you going to do? Reuse it? I'm not wasting the gas to go back up there and probably end up with the wrong meal again. My wife was not the only one in that line who got the wrong stuff. We will not be back. Not when Doss', Dairy Queen, can any number of fast food restaurants around here won't be such a pain in the butt on a Sunday to just get...
