Pasquale's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Kewanee

I showed up to order pizza and it was packed. They were a little bit short-staffed but they kept things moving and positive attitudes. Didn't have to wait too long, 35 minutes for my pizzas to be ready. I would say that's pretty average for a fresh pizza place and impressive considering how busy they were. My 13-year-old is super picky. The pepperoni pizza passed his test. We ordered a large pepperoni, a large supreme with no mushrooms and beef roll which is the calzone stuffed with Italian beef served with au jus. As far as the pizza goes the crust was fresh, perfect flavor and consistency. I don't always eat pizza crust unless it's good. And I ate this crust. I'm really curious about their sauce because it was some of the best pizza sauce I've ever had. I also like my pizzas a little bit towards the saucy side and they definitely didn't skimp out. All of the toppings were fresh too. A friend of mine recommended this restaurant as well as their beef roll so I had to order one. I don't know if other places make that but it was really good. Sometimes with a calzone the crust can be too thick and there isn't a good balance between crust and toppings. I feel like they had a great balance. Disappointed. Ordered two different pizzas, and bread sticks. I liked that they used large pieces of chicken that you could actually see but was very disappointed that nothing had any taste. The pepperoni pizza tasted like school lunch. The pizza sauce was bland. The chicken bacon ranch pizza included chicken and bacon but the chicken wasn't seasoned at all. Maybe they forgot to add the ranch sauce to the pizza altogether because, again, there was no flavor. The cheese sticks had some kind of Italian seasoning dumped on them but very little cheese. I visit Kewanee a few times a year (it is where my grandparents lived for their whole married life) and I was really excited to try a new place when we went up for Hog Days weekend! I thought the vibe on social media was really fresh and fun, and I want to see family owned businesses succeed. We wanted to try something we couldn’t get at another place, so we got the spaghetti pizza and brought it home. And oh my LORD! This pizza was HEFTY! It was thick, cheesy, and still warm when we got home roughly an hour later. So hearty and filling! We placed the order online and it was ready prior to the estimated pickup time. SO good, y’all.
