Gourmet Italian Delights - Ice Cream Monster Keyport — Restaurant in Keyport

My cousins and I had stumbled upon Gourmet Italian Delights while in the area after enjoying some food from Keyport Fishery. We were at the waterside parking lot and noticed the shop with the bright colors and signs and we decided to take a walk over. We were immediately welcomed by Olivia and her grandmother. They both made us feel so welcomed and literally felt like we were a part of their family. They explained how their gelato was made and let us sample as many flavors as we wanted. This place is not for the indecisive! Their gelato is creamy and flavorful. We all loved the texture and the chunks within the different flavors. I had decided on the coffee in a sea salt caramel flavored waffle cone. Yes they also have flavored waffle cones! The flavors of the cone and gelato complimented each other well. The coffee gelato had some chunks of coffee grinds that enhanced the flavor so well! My sister had gotten the birthday cake and loved the chunks of birthday cake. We all enjoyed the gelato the first time and recently had come back again. Olivia and her grandmother had remembered us and welcomed us back in with open arms. She told us about some new menu items and of course we wanted to try it! It was a hot chocolate with a scoop of ice cream. We were immediately sold on it and yes it was delicious! Of course we got some gelato as well!

We love the right knit family atmosphere at Gourmet Italian Delights. Every customer feels so welcomed upon coming in. The gelato is definitely the best I have found in the area! And this place is worth the drive from North Jersey. We will...

If you thought you loved ice cream... Let me tell you... you have no idea of what you were talking about... well unless you have tried ice cream from Gourmet Italian Delights, a new hidden gem in KeyPort NJ... across from the promenade... they have over 60 flavors of ice cream and real Italian Gelato... scooped however you like it. Cups, Cones, Sundaes and Take Home Containers. I had to go when they had their Grand Opening and this family operated business serves it up... BUT GOOD!! The ice cream has to be the best tasting ice cream I have ever had. The ingredients... OMG... to die for. Sea Salt and Caramel has to be one of my favorites. Every day I go and try something new. They also bake fresh bread on the premises. I was there on the 4th of July and enjoyed an over stuffed Italian hero with Imported Prosciutto, salami and Provolone... home made roasted peppers... OMG it was so delicious. Sure you can get a hero like that an any Italian deli... but more than likely you will not get it on warm fresh baked bread. That crunch of the crust... the aroma of the bread and all the goodies inside... a carnival for your senses. Had some real Italian Ice Tea to go along with it. Sat and hung out for a bit... enjoying the views of the water etc... Then it was time to have my fill on ice cream. Give this place a try. You will never want that store bought ice cream again. I absolutely love this place. It has so much to offer - the selection if ice creams is absolutely crazy, it seems like they have a hundred of them and some I have never seen in my entire life, big part of which was dedicated to exploring the world of ice cream. I enjoy so much trying something new each time, last time it was coffee with Kaluha and chocolate chips and OMG it was so good. The ice cream is also I believe imported from Italy, it is different and so much better, something you really can not find anywhere else.

They are also very very clean, extremely patient and accommodating, they will let you taste the ice cream before hand and as much as you need. I noticed on multiple times extra attention to kids and elderly people which I think says a lot. For me, it comes from the fact it’s a family owned business, you see three generations working together and helping each other and you truly feel like you visit your family here. In these times of pandemic, it’s so important to visit family owned places, where your money go towards dance classes for one kid and college for another as opposite next big bonus for the next corporate CEO.

I highly recommend Gourmet Italian Delights to anyone. They have great ice cream, wonderful people work there and you will love it . There’s also a lot of other food - soups, sandwiches, empanadas even; everyone will find something to enjoy...
