Uncle Louie G Keyport — Restaurant in Keyport

I come up from North Jersey, to visit Sandy Hook, and my Boat in Keyport. I go out of my way to stop and support this place. The 2 Teenage-ish (not really sure) employee's are always super friendly. My Girlfriend and I always make a point to stop in, say Hi, and enjoy their Ice-cream and Italian Ice. Today, as I stood their with my Girlfriend, my Daughter, my Nephew, and my MOM.... introducing THREE new people to my favorite Keyport snack..... I noticed the usual 2 girls weren't working. I said to my Girlfriend "my girlfriends aren't here". Meaning, obviously, our friends who are girls. The lady behind the counter, whom I've seen many times before, and always been polite too, (who I've also seen on multiple occasions, be pushy and rude to the girls), said to me, while my Mom and GF, and Daughter stand next to me: "You don't have any girlfriends here". Well, thanks for the notice. My actual girlfriend was highly offended by that comment, and, we'll take that as duly noted, and find a new place to be regulars, stop for friendly faces, and a snack. 2 Stars for the 2 awesome employee, that are apparently NOT MY FRIEND -3 Stars, for the unnecessary insult, in front...

Uncle Louie G in Keyport is one of my absolute favorite spots to cool off during the summer. I’ve been there several times, and every visit is better than the last. They offer a wide variety of flavors — some of my personal favorites include blueberry cobbler, pumpkin pie, apple pie, strawberry cheesecake, peanut butter, and fudge swirl. Whether you’re in the mood for creamy ice cream or refreshing Italian ices, everything is phenomenal.

What really makes this place special, though, is the location. After you grab your treat, you can walk right across the street and enjoy it at the tables overlooking the water. The view of the New York skyline is absolutely stunning, and during the summer, there’s often live music playing nearby from one of the restaurants, which adds such a great vibe to the whole experience.

Between the amazing flavors, the peaceful waterfront, and the lively downtown energy, this place truly makes for a perfect summer outing....

Living in the South, we were absolutely spoiled by Blue Bell ice cream, so you can imagine our dismay when we discovered they don’t deliver up here. We nearly threw in the towel on ice cream altogether after trying countless brands and places. But then, like a sweet miracle, we stumbled upon this gem! For the past two years, my husband has been hooked on their mint chocolate chip—he’d buy the whole container if our freezer could handle it! Not only is their ice cream heavenly, but the owners are an absolute delight. They can get busy, but trust me, it’s worth every delicious moment...
