I have ordered from Tropico for years and have always enjoyed it until today. I ordered tacos and rice with beans. When I went to pick up my order the rice was not ready so I waited a few minutes. I observed one of the employees touching the rice with her bare hands and then proceeded to scoop the rice into the container with her hands. I could not believe that was my order but it was. When I asked why she was using her hands to scoop rice instead of a spoon she rudely responded “my hands are clean”. This is authentic Mexican food, very similar to the style in Mexico City, Mexico. I have really enjoyed all the foods I have ordered from here such as their soups, nachos, guacamole, tacos, quesadillas, burritos and signature kitchen dishes. They also offer a green and a red sauce that is spicy, but only elevates the flavor. I also appreciate the fresh limes, cilantro and onions they offer as well. I’ve been going to Tropico for many years, and it has always been an incredible experience. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely delicious with generous portions, great flavor, and fair prices. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into their dishes, making it feel like a home cooked meal every time. I have been to other authentic Mexican restaurants closer to my home, but none quite compare to Tropico. I will certainly make the drive here for their top tier quality.
