Booths are tight at the bar and a little tough getting in and out of if you are a little less nimble. We were a party of 4 and they are much more suited to a part of 2.
Service was ok. We ordered drinks and I really enjoyed my Sazerac cocktail. In fact I had two. Our friends ordered wine and were pleased. Very generous pours and the cocktails come with a back up carafe. It’s almost two drinks. My wife had a vodka martini which was prepared dirty, not as ordered.
We ordered our meals and the salad wedge looked good, maybe a little on the small side. The queen prime rib end cut was huge and cooked correctly. My friend had the dry aged ribeye and was disappointed. It wasn’t cooked to his order and it was a bit dry, even though it was served rare. My wife’s filet was undercooked and she sent it back and it returned to her at the proper temperature. I had the surf and turf and it was excellent. The steak was served a little undercooked for medium but well within an acceptable temperature for me. The Lobster tails were very tasty and I enjoyed my meal. I think with a little more expertise they could elevate their service and food prep to get 4 stars. For example, a steakhouse has to hit the right temp serving steaks. I could tell my plate sat a bit because of the film on the surface of the Bernaise sauce. The asparagus is listed with pimentos but was served plain. The whipped potatoes could and should be elevated to a higher level. The creme brûlée was a little runny. My cheesecake while delicious was a little in the small side for a steakhouse. I think there were only 2 rolls in the bread basket for a table for 4. More attentive servers would be warranted after all, $105 for Surf & Turf warrants that. But the waitress was friendly so that counts for something. I’d go back again as overall the food was good and it was an enjoyable meal. Generous drinks and quality food. Kick it up a notch Louie and get that 4th star. BTW this is a comparison against other premium steakhouses not a run of the mill restaurant, so keep that in mind.
Just visited again. A lot of what I wrote above still holds true. Very good drinks, I had the Sazerac again and enjoyed it. My wife’s dirty martini, this time ordered as dirty was a bit too dirty. She never finished it. While I didn’t try it, the house red Cabernet was well received by one of my dining companions. We sat at a table, which was much roomier and perfect for the four of us and positioned well in the dining room.
In to the food! I tried the French onion soup and it was excellent! Sweet from the onions and good flavor. Wedge salads looked good as they were split but I didn’t try them. My wife tried the artichoke appetizer. It just didn’t stand up to artichokes I had in Italy. I don’t believe it was a fresh artichoke but a vinegar marinated artichoke.
The queen cut prime rib was a winner again. I haven’t tried it but this is the second time it was ordered by the same person so she must like it!
My wife ordered Chicken Francaise I believe and she liked it. The rest of the party, both ordered the double crust delmonico steak. It comes with a choice of potato, offered with fries but an easy switch to mashed. I went with mashed. Added asparagus with hollandaise sauce and grilled shrimp. Steaks were cooked to temp (Give or take). While ok, the steak wasn’t highly flavored but did have a nice crust. The asparagus was a bit tough and the hollandaise sauce broke. Which, leads me to the bernaise sauce was served cold. I thought it was an odd choice as did one of my dining companions. I think a steak deserves a warm sauce with that hint of tarragon. I did some research after and it’s not typically served cold with steaks. I didn’t care for it. Mashed potatoes were good. Shrimp were good as well.
For dessert a creme brûlée was ordered and was enjoyed. I ordered the carrot cake and was told after that it was out. I opted for the molten lava cake and also a port wine. The port paired well with the lava cake but there was no molten center. I reached the word limit and will...
Read moreThis restaurant came so recommended to us! We where so excited to get all dressed up and have a nice beautiful dinner with some loved ones. It was my first time to the area and we where spending the weekend in the area to celebrate my birthday! From the moment we sat down our waitress was so rude and so unwelcoming to all of us. She was enthusiastic there was no connection or conversation what so ever! We where a party of six and there where to other tables near us! One was a big party and the other was a table of 2! I watched the waitress go to those table constantly and asked if everything was ok, have a conversation with them, smile to them and thanked them for coming and wished them a happy weekend! Not once did she checked on us, asked us if everything was ok! She was very rude in reaching over the table to get things cleared! We waited 40 minutes for our dinner kind you this is an expensive restaurant not once did she keep us updated on our food or for refills or anything! We where the only Hispanic group there and we all felt offended because we believe it was our ethnicity that caused her to behave like this! Even though she was very rude in placing or order we still thanked her and where polite to her! I had to speak to the manager which I never do but she upset every single person on the table and I was so upset because it was our first place out of the night! The food was ok but for the being pricy I expected excellent service! Overall experience was horrible! Even though the manager was very apologetic we will never come back and that is sad! We are all the same and our money is the same as everyone else m! We all work hard to be able to enjoy I nice night! It’s people like Briana that make businesses fail! Businesses thrive on service and quality and I was very disappointed and hope she learns and becomes a...
Read moreVery poor experience, problems were unrelated to COVID. Let's just run through a quick list of the issues: First, our outdoor dining table that we reserved was given away, and we were seated inside after a delay. Not a huge issue, but not a strong start. The waitstaff was very cordial. We ordered and the food was as follows: Lobster Bisque- obviously scorched. Strong burnt flavor was present in all of our plates. Not inedible, but poor. The next course was the main, and we all ordered steaks of varying kinds. The Ribeye was ordered as "medium", but delivered almost cold. After a 5-7 min wait, the steak was brought back into the kitchen to be re-cooked. (which anyone with cooking experience knows will degrade the flavor and consistency of the meat). When it was returned, the sauce that was ordered with the steak was gone, as were the sides. No accommodation was made despite the loss of food that we paid for. Not even an offer of a free drink or dessert. The other steaks were acceptable, but would be considered 'low-grade' by anyone who has eaten in a major city at any steakhouse. I would rate it slightly below "Outback" quality. The desserts were excellent, but thought it was odd that they cleared our water glasses and 2 of our drinks that were still 1/3 full. In the end, we just chalked it up to "well....it's The Poconos". Not to sound snobby, as I serve with the Marines and have eaten some bad chow in my time. But please don't write "Prime Steakhouse"...
