My family and I have ordered from here on multiple occasions. Unfortunately I stopped ordering from here due to certain plates being too spicy. We asked staff if they can alter the spice on the plates but they said they could not. Instead of offering me other food options on the menu that are more milder or don't have as much spice. The Asun is good but the meat tends to be tuff at times. The egusi soup was not very much a joy to eat. The Ogbono was terrible seeing as though we only received the broth with two pieces of beef and were unable to finish it. Recently; we ordered from there and were not only OVERCHARGED but not given our order correctly. Apparently; the sides they have listed on the menu confused some of the workers. We ordered Ogbono soup with Two sides of their beef side options. Instead of getting ogbono soup they gave us the Ogbono broth with two small pieces of beef. We went back in to explain again to the staff up front that we initially wanted two seperate sides of the beef; which would be $8. We were charged $8 but were given ONE to go BOX with LITERALLY TWO small pieces of BEEF. Since the restaurant was closing we decided to call the next day to speak with a manager. The staff member stated they were the manager and said they would mention our issue. Instead of refunding us or trying any avenue of making the issue better they seem to not really care that we were OVERCHARGED and received the WRONG order. Hopefully; if you decide to eat here they communicate your order with you and don't OVERCHARGE you. Unfortunately; we will not return due to feeling unheard and also feeling as though we may have been taken advantage of due to being OVERcharged. We do hope that anyone who decides to go here has or continues to have a good experience. I just urge you to communicate communicate. Advocate for your Wallet...
Read moreThe food made it worth it. My husband (Nigerian) and I ordered to pick up. Jollof Rice with Beef, Egusi with goat, Nkwobi. The food was absolutely delicious. I usually hate jollof rice from restaurants cause they tast like they are made with ragu sauce but this jollof tasted very well. Egusi was delicious and not runny. Everything was well seasoned. The bad part was everything else. The prices online do not match what they charge in store. If I had ordered online it would have been about 20 dollars cheaper. Jollof was showing 12.99 online but I was charged 16.99 in store. Im actually ok with paying the higer price because the food is so good it's worth it. The prices need to be consistent in store and online and anywhere else they advertise. This was about the same price difference for all the items. The man in the store said he would tell his boss but I would have to pay what his register showed. I use to work in food services. While I understand the register concern, he could have at least try to contact the boss but he did nothing. He also seemed to be there by himself. As if he was the host, chef, and waiter. I stood out front by the desk for a long time with no employees in sight or ear- shot before another customer went and knocked on the door in the back to get him to come out. At least he was polite. The place looked very throwed together without much thought. All of that said, good west African food is very hard to find in this area. So I will be visiting this place again as long as the food quality stays the same. This will be a favorite of ours and I will also recommend this place and just caution about the issues. Again, can't speak highly enough...
Read moreThis was my third time going. The first was amazing. Second, not so much but that was on me. I ordered something I knew i wouldn't like the texture of. This time terrible! I called to order because efo riro was not available online to order. When I called she said ok and what meat. I said chicken. She said they were out and that they only had beef, GOAT, and fish. Now I am pregnant, so I really wanted what I asked for lol. So when I chose GOAT I asked if goat was better with egusi or efo riro. She said egusi. So, I ordered egusi soup with GOAT. when I go there I paid and THEN she told me they ran out of goat so she gave what was left and put beef in it. Beef was never an option. But I said hey it might be delicious. When I got settled to eat there was NO MEAT in the bowl at all and there was no spice!!!!! Just big thick chunks of beef skin no one would ever be able to bite through! I called and she argued with me about it saying she remembers putting goat meat in it. I asked if I could bring it to show her she said yes. I went back and she took a fork and started digging through the bowl. She didn't find any goat. She said hmm do you want more meat? I said please. She put the most rudiculous looking bones with dried up meat in the bowl and asked if that would work. I just looked at her and said what is it. She said beef. This beef looks NOTHING like the beef she put in the first time. I took it and threw it away! Money wasted but lesson learned! I will not...
