This was my first experience at this salon and will unfortunately be my last. I had requested a half up half down sew in done before leaving out of town and was assisted by "Boss". He informed me because of the time the price would be $200, which wasn't an issue. While there he did indeed wash and blow-dry my hair and proceeded to do the sew in, as we talked about my plans for the weekend. Once we were finished I should've asked for a mirror because what I came home with was not to my satisfaction. My flight was at 6 am and my hair was done around 10:30 pm the night prior so I got ready and headed straight to the airport after the appointment. Arriving at my destination, my friend looked at my hair and took pics (attached below) and to my surprise it was worse than I expected. I sent a text to boss about the situation to which he replied that the track he cut "slipped" and asked if I could come in and get it fixed. Which I could not because I was out of town which he knew about and once I asked for a solution to the problem, he left me on read. Once back in town (a few days later) I went back to the shop because my issue was still not resolved. He asked me to come in after I got off work the next day which I agreed to. Upon arrival no one was at the shop I texted, called, even FaceTime to see about my appointment HE set up to which I got no reply. So the following day I had to take time out of my work schedule and AGAIN go back to the shop. While there he never took accountability for why he never showed up for the appointment and kept insisting on doing my hair right then and there which I was not able to do because I had to go back to work. He told me to come back after work again to fix the issue but if he left me high and dry the first time I couldn't trust that he wouldn't do it again. The situation was handled very unprofessionally and it saddens me that the issue was never resolved. His work is a reflection of this place and I do not recommend his services because $220 later (yes I included a tip for taking me so late) was definitely not up to par from...

I recently visited Raquels Beauty Salon and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I called TC inquiring about coloring my locs. I was so nervous and indecisive, but ready for a change! She was able to get me in the very next day for a color consultation(on her off day). I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. We agreed to lighten my hair and give me blonde highlights throughout!

TC took the time to listen to my ideas and provided expert suggestions that perfectly matched my vision. Well yall my vision was BOLD for someone who had never colored their hair before.

Throughout the appointment, TC was attentive and made sure I was comfortable. The color turned out absolutely stunning— but I just wasn't feeling the blonde on me. She could tell that I was uncomfortable with the new look.... Even though she had done an amazing job.

She immediately said" you look beautiful, but I want you to feel comfortable. So let's get you back on the books, and we will darken it the highlights" it was my decision to go blonde she did an amazing job But in that appointment, she also proved that she was an amazing person! She corrected my color absolutely free of charge two days later... With the same positive spirit, she had the first time!

I have found my hair home. Yes, my hair needs a home. And it took moving to Killeen to find it. I needed my hair dyed and a braid, and I called them up. They could take me right then. While parking (especially for a mobility challenged gal like myself) was a bit downtown-like dicey, walking in the place made that one issue disappear.

I walked in, and I was immediately welcomed. I felt right at home. It felt like the right place. Bry took care of me and did a fabulous job on my dye and braids. She educated me on how to keep my braids looking nice for more than just a could of days. And I knew it was the place I needed to take care of my hair.

Note, it is a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I am worth having my hair look nice. I am so thankful I found my hair home on my first adventure out into my new community.... this is something I have not been able to find before. It seems like a small thing, but really, it is huge.
